Super Official Nebraska/Akron Game Day Thread.

As the now-retired Lee Corso would say, NOT SO FAST, MON FRERE! Or something like that.

Akron took an early lead on Ohio State last year and kept it relatively close to halftime (17-3). They "only" lost 10-0 last week (Wyoming is apparently not very good). It should be a relatively easy win, but might look a bit more methodical than an avalanche of humiliation, unless the Huskers REALLY snap in to focus and decide to throw yolo bombs every play just to shut people up about the dinking and dunking of the Cincinnati game. But I think* there will be more fine-tuning than that, and could end up looking like the Northern Illinois game from 2023 or UNI last year where you go home with an efficient win that's never in doubt.

*yes, it hurt to do so.
LOL, thinking does cause hurt sometimes. Thought it just happened to me!

So long as we win, I don't care much about the final score.

But I don't want to see DR playing in the fourth quarter (let's add EJ to that list as well). I want to see everyone on the roster with at least a shot at getting in the game. If they make mistakes (teachable moments) that lead to a Zip score or two, I'm fine with that.

So, Huskers, let's put this one to bed at halftime or midway through the third quarter. That will build depth and take it easy on my ticker. :)

I don't like the electronic ticket crap. I could say I like the paper ticket as a souvenir but that ain't it. I'm just old and don't embrace new things easily.
I keep telling myself that change doesn't care whether I like it or not, change is coming.
Yeah, but I still don't like it.

I hate the electronic ticket as well. Wish you could still get a paper one

When my electronic tickets arrived in the mail, I didn't get the same old 'warm & fuzzy' feeling I always got looking at them and smelling my cellphone. :(

How do the electronic tickets work? Cell phones are required, I'm assuming? So what happens if you don't have a cell phone and don't want to get one? Just screwed like the proverbial goose or is there a workaround? Enquiring minds want to know.

I've done e-tickets to Spring Games in years past, I assume it's the same system: you buy the ticket, get an e-mail confirmation and a link to the ticket(s) which you would either show the gatekeepers on your phone, or print them out. But others may know better about any changes to that method.

Ah, that works, as long as you can print them out. Wasn't sure that was an option since they're paperless. I guess it's ok if we use our paper.

NC's post got me to thinking about mine so I picked up my cellphone to double-check I had my Akron tickets in my wallet ready to go and....Holy Sh*t, they weren't there! Then I checked my emails and couldn't find the one I got earlier this summer from the UNL ticket office. CRAP!!!

After calming myself down from my full-blown panic attack, I remembered I had a Husker.com app on my phone and checked there and--WhooHoo--there's where my season tickets were. I looked specifically at the Akron ones and was asked if I wanted to have them transfered to my wallet. I answered yes and -- Voila' -- they appeared there!!! I guess that means I'm ready for Saturday's game now. uh, as long as my cellphone is charged up.

BTW, have I mentioned I HATE this electonric ticket bullsh*t????!??

Unfortunately now that I'm off work I looked further and this may no longer be an option, which makes no sense to me.
