If yous really concerned about a lot of complaining and hand wringing against Akron the Huskers are not where we need them to be. I'm thinking we will be hearing mostly YAY! and GO TEAM! all evening long. If not, it's going to be a long season.

I'm glad we don't have Illinois on the schedule this year. They look for reals.
I'm not saying that at all HJ. Saying that I tend to disappear during night games because: A) I get up at 4 AM, whether I want to or not (I just wake up and can't go back to sleep - so by half time, I'm toast; and B) on the rare occasions that doesn't happen, Chat tends to get a little overly negative for my taste by then. Rather than get my panties in a wad, I just disappear when that happens.
I won't be surprised either way about the chat convo. It's been a long time of substandard play and fans are just tired and ready to rise to the top again so patience is running thin and it doesn't take long for the comments to start in. Not saying that I blame anyone and I would probably start chirping in as well because, God knows, I'm bloody tired of it as well - just don't want to do that (when it happens).
I expect that we will win. Having said that, I won't be surprised that there will be a play or two or more that can cause the negativity to flow freely and that's fine. I'd be more surprised if there aren't any of those plays and subsequent negativity because, we are still a work in progress.
I've done that as well. It's almost to the point where being in the chat is rarely fun. Gawd knows I'm the last person who would ever criticize anyone for being negative because over the past 15 years there have been plenty of things to be negative about regarding Nebraska football.
The negativity usually starts after our opponent gets a 1st down or strings together a couple first downs. It's like, holy sh**, we're still 7 minutes to go in the 1st Q and you're already saying we've lost the game. (Now in fairness, unfortunately, the last 8 years, those people have been right more times than they've been wrong.)
But yeah, rather than try and fight the negativity, I just leave.
Yeah there was a Fansville commercial parody of this a couple years ago where they all started to panic and give up on the season after one play. At least it's not just us.
To be fair, Matt Rhule's smock being able to type at all is still kind of impressive.

Cincy up 34-20 with 2 minutes left. Bowling Green beat Lafayette last week 26-7, and Lafayette thumped Stonehill 42-26 today so, yeah, I think both Cincy and Nebraska should be in the Top 20 Monday.
