One last comment about the Tunnel Walk: It's not just a Husker football thing, it's a University thing.
In August of 2003, the University's Dean of Admissions introduced the Tunnel Walk as a way to welcome new students to the campus. It's been an important part of the University's New Student Enrollment program every year ever since.
The students line up outside of the stadium (usually 2,500-4,000) on the Friday night before school starts as the Marching Band concludes its annual concert. Once the band finishes its concert, HuskerVision flashes 'Welcome New Students!' on the big screens and the sounds of Sirius blares out of the speakers to loud cheers from the students as they run through the Tunnel Walk and out the Tunnel Walk Gates onto the field.
In recent years, once they are on the field, the NSE assistants help the students form a giant "N" and pictures are taken of the year's New Student Class. IMHO, it's a pretty cool way for students to feel like they've officially become Huskers.
So in this discussion of Sirius, keep in mind that there are an ever-growing number of alums and former students who have a personal connection to the song.
