Scott Frost

I think it's awesome that we tear each other apart to add to the misery of the football program. Makes me feel all warm and cuddly inside.

I have nothing but respect for what you think Justino... I/we don't have to agree on every point of it. It's important to you and that is fine by me.

Now when it comes to the Dline... those guys get doubled up quick off the snap in the 3-4. I don't think that it's realistic to think in their first year they are going to be as productive as they have been in a D they've grown up playing. At least the LB's get to roam around a little.

I think Trent Bray and Keith Williams have done every bit as good a job as you think JP has.

I think that Bray did a great job his first year here. The past 2......I haven't seen the same amount of progress. Perhaps that is due to the shift to the 3-4 this year.

KW, I'll disagree. I haven't seen his position group get better under his watch, with one exception: Speilman. I think that Morgan has done some things better, but the drops by him and the WR group as a whole is frustrating.

Completely disagree--Williams has had a few late misses in recruiting that have left us very thin at WR, and the drops and incorrect routes by the WRs this year have been awful.

As for Bray, the development at LB has been non-existent--our LBs have been getting abused all year--in this 3rd year of coaching that position group, someone should be showing some skills

Look to be clear about something I was asked about .......no I don't hate or have any animosity for Coach Riley and in fact I said several times his first year and a half the vibe if you will in Lincoln in and around the Football Program was fantastic....a breath of fresh but yet somehow oddly familiar air.... Made me actually think about how it felt under Coach Osborne.....but that's where it came to an end....I too fell into the whole "they say they want to be not just a good running team but a great running team" mantra that the staff kept feeding us and I ate that stuff right up.....the positive attitude the can do willingness was hard to ignore but.....again that's where that stopped.....when I see us fail to block and run some very basic running plays.....and only rush for 8 yards in a half against ....and no offense to Purr-Doo or disrespect at all but seriously.....?.....c'mon man.....then I see all the running backs that other teams seem to dig up from no where.....dang Richie Worship from Purdue only had the one power 5 offer and that was from Purdue....!?!?!? I gotta ask my self what the ?.....now we read and hear about the Sargent kid who is playing at Iowa Western Juco college a place Coach Osborne helped get things organized at so schools could be sure the players they had would qualify for Power 5 schools....and Riley and Cav were there checking out an Offensive Lineman and saw the kid first hand and didn't pounce on him like Fleas on a Hound.....well that right there says Volumes to me....I did my Homework on Sargent and the Kid is legit....can Block great and has size, speed to burn and runs low and powerful.....he also catches the Football as a safety valve and is a decent enough pass catcher that he for sure would be worth the time and effort to get here....no preferred walk on deal either....I'm talking 4 yrs to play 3 full ride scholarship......I know Coach Osborne would have been all over this kid from day one and we don't even talk to him ......c'mon people something just don't add up....just in case you might question.....there is no holes in this kid....he's Bright, A Hard worker and keeps out of trouble just to answer that first......I seriously looked into him cause I wanted to know why we have not nabbed him already and I kept coming up with the wrong answer......there is no earthly reason not to be on him so there in a nut shell is a huge red flag for me.

Look Coach Riley is a great man and has a great reputation and I agree with that but to put it plainly.....he don't have what it takes to be NEBRASKA Head Coach....his laid back style and manner are great ......some places but not here....we need a guy who will Coach Riley you till the game starts then he flips a Terminator switch and changes to a Coach that will get you down and keep his foot on the kick butt switch till the final whistle blows.....a Coach who can get toughness and want to from his players.....and I am sorry but Mr.Nice Guy Riley ain't that guy and never has been and never will be no offense to him or his fans.
That's one good reason I feel we gotta make a change.....I hope he would retire and go out with class and dignity....cause if ever he was the guy we needed it was several years ago again no offense intended....just the way I see it.
As to who then.....well that ain't up to me but the guys in charge REALLY REALLY NEED TO GET THIS RIGHT THIS TIME cause we are at the brink here people.....seriously were so close to slipping into obscurity it's not funny....another couple years of bottom dwelling and you won't be able to get any kids worth their salt to come play here.....no body lines up to play for loosers.

Doc.

I guess that Adam Rittenberg was on TBL today and said he thinks Frost is heading to Florida.

My guess is neither Frost or his agent have agreed to anything--anyone that says otherwise is either speculating or creating click-bait--

That said. once UF decided McElwain was done, they made the right decision cut let him go immediately so they could publicly start their search for a replacement

UF is ahead of the game, but in the Frost situation I don't think it matters. Frost will consider both.

Personally, I am fine with Frost not coming, though I would like him to. That would be the stability we need for sure and I think he would do no worse than Bo, record wise.

That said, Chip would be a very good hire. Matt Campbell wouldn't be bad either, but prefer Chip over him.

Of course, I would be very happy despite not getting Frost if Stoops took the job.. :)

IF Riley remains as HC then Frost will accept the UF job if he wants it. Otherwise he'll be coming to NU.

I feel that if Riley is kept as head coach, NU fans will revolt. I am 48 years old and was listening to/watching NU football from the time I was a kid, football was life, and I can tell you for the first time in my life I would not worry about NU football anymore.

If you think there is apathy now, you've seen nothing yet if Moos announces Mike is back in '18. Dollars will stop moving, downtown LNK will be even more of a ghost town than it is this year, fans won't be traveling in normal numbers, seats will open up (our plastic sell-out streak will live on, but it's already a charade to put a pretty sign in the stadium). Won't be good.

Unfortunately to an outsider it may look like great fan support right now, great energy, compared to Corvallis or Pulman.

Does anyone know how many actually showed for the NW-NU game last weekend?
