Roster movement

TJ was a five star bust , Hickman news surprised me, and Carnie we never knew ya. I hope they all get to a place they want to be
Tyreke is a cautionary tale for the fans. There is always such excitement about castoffs from better-performing programs coming to NU. Personally, I hope the era of thinking “he just wasn’t good enough for <insert great program>, but he’s going to be an immediate impact player here” ends yesterday.

Walkon who shows a vastly underthrown pass on the first clip. He seems to put everything he has into every pass. A weak arm in the Big 10 is an interception waiting to happen. Wh did he pick NU, with 6 guys in front of him?

More important to me is why did the staff agree?

I thought Brown wasn't practicing all winter. This was just an official parting of the ways. Was I wrong?

My guess is his long term goal is to be a coach. Rhule and staff are giving him a chance to work in the program and build up his coaching skills while he still has eligibility.
I think we'll see more of this type of thing with Matt at the helm. If Casey doesn't get the nod, this still won't be a year wasted for him imo.

Alante hitting the portal does not surprise me - good player - but given what Rhule has been able to pull together for this season (and his goals for future classes at WR) - Brown was not a likely starter or regular contributor.
