I suspect we're seeing a bit of "The Cignetti Effect" with Knighton's departure and players following him.
Looking to the future, I suspect rival coaches are going to be taking long looks at the programs stocked with talented, young DL and OLs and then hire their position coach in an effort to lure away that talent via the portal.

I've decided to just let things play out and not worry about any specific player. We still have the opportunity to look in the portal for defensive help - and I assume we'll have some decent NIL ammo to spend. It feels like DH has a plan for the offense.......we haven't really heard the same from the D but probably couldn't state anything publicly until we finalized Butler and Snow.
No 0 or 9 next season was going to happen regardless - and I think the D takes a step back no matter who we get to stay or out of the portal. Hopefully a small step.

At this point we have to wonder if maybe he's not a big fan of his position coach.
Two guys that entered today I feel bad about......1) Boerkecher because I thought he played well, and worked hard, and 2) Hood because he never lived up to the potential that I hoped for.

Boerkircher was my favorite TE. He gave 100%. Every play.

When we heard rumblings that he was portal bound, I freaked a little bit. I thought to myself, if I'm running 1820, I'm telling Coach Rhule, 'we gotch you. How much is it gonna take?'
Yes I think bringing back Phillip Simpson went a long way with the FL guys, plus it helps they still have Dvoracek coaching LBs
Had to know this was coming. Crazy I thought we maybe had the best local haul since the 90's with Kaelin, Coleman, Hall & McMorris and now none of them are on the team and only one got any meaningful snaps.
