That's my thinking too. He wasn't highly pursued coming out of high school and now he's got some good P5 game tape to show off. He's seeing what else is out there.

Some of these kids will leave but some will be back next year. This is just contract renegotiation time.
Hausman Had a very good year as a freshman starter. Heck one of the coaches may have told him to put his name in the portal so his NIL contract gets bumped.
Decoldest is taking a little more risk. He blew his knee out so maybe nobody ponies up and he could lose big. Remember by putting his name in the portal NU doesn’t have to honor his scholarship to come back.
This is a new era. The scholarship isn’t the prize any more. This is a pro market and everyone is a free agent.

Every time I glance at this thread I think it says "Rooster Movement" and I find myself getting out of the chair and doing this strut where I jut my chin out with each stride. Is that strange?
IMO, we need more players with a mindset like Garrett Nelson. He wants to play for the Huskers, and would stay even with a coaching change. However, I do realize it's not realistic these days that all players play for the school above all else, and not put the coaches first. I understand that it is also about relationships between player-coach, but it sure would be nice to get back to having a predominance of players with the burning desire to wear the read "N" above all else....
Not really, but they talked about how, say, Crawford entering the portal doesn't necessarily mean he's for sure leaving, but Hausmann appears determined to go somewhere else.
We need to try and scoop up these Stanford offensive linemen.
