One Thing I DON'T Want To See This Season

Of course, there are a LOT of things I don't want to see this year. But the following item frustrated the heck out of me during the Riley era.

I don't want to see a 3rd and 1 where we hurl the ball down the field 50 yards. Run the darn thing!

I guess I could add to that...

I don't want to see a 3rd and 10 where we again hurl the ball 40-50 yards. Just get the 10 yards so we can get a new set of downs.

Prepare to be further frustrated my friend. Just go watch UCF last year it's what they do. As long as they make it work more times than not I'm on board. They will also be in shotgun on the 1 yard line going to be hard to get used to.

I am sure Frost's 3rd and 1 calls vs. D's loading the LOS will go after what he sees in game prep and the course of game. We won't be lining up in the power I - but as long as the 3rd down conversion % improves who gives a turkey how they do it.

On the opposite end of that, which we've done quite often in our attempts to bring the NFL philosophy to Lincoln, is have a 3rd and 4 and run a two yard pass play.

The problem was our OL last year was not able to push at the LOS so we could NOT run the ball on 3rd and short.
