Omar Manning

I have to say I too am hearing rumblings out of
The Staff that yes he is back at practice and doing quite well thanks in no small part to Kade Warner and a couple of other teammates from the WR room.
They have been crash coursing him in the offensive playbook at Warner's place daily and spending non practice time watching film and dissecting plays....

" See the thing is Omar is a really likeable guy but had some trouble acclimating himself to big time College and to a big-time fast paced college football team"

....I put that in quotes because those were the exact words told to me.
Here is one more small snippet for you all, again in quotes.

"He had no trouble making friends within the team and was widely accepted....trouble was one player got some bad info from a teammate of Omar's from JC....and it kinda got spread around before they gave him a chance to show what kind of player and teammate he really is...that info has since been shown to be totally wrong and false motivated totally by jealousy.
We are in the process of moving forward as fast as is humanly possible....how fast he can climb to the first or second team spot depends on his ankle which he did twist a bit....( which was absolutely nothing serious at all )....and his knowledge of what we're trying to get done playbook wise....he has some catching up to do but is coming on fast ! "
" If he makes the trip to Columbus for OSU....is still up in the air and a fluid situation.... we'll know better about 72 hours before were due to depart for Ohio"

That my fellow forum people is all I have heard in the last couple of days. Been really freakin busy with Hunting Clients...Kate is hauling them into and out of camp that some mornings I have to do a head count to see who is still here and who is gone and who is new.....sheesh....you woulda think the Covid crap woulda kept a bigger share of them home......so far we have not had any problems with it because we're EXTRA SUPER DUPER CAREFUL and Kate being a Fully Licensed Registered Nurse sure don't hurt none either....last thing I want is someone bringing that crap to camp and getting us all sick in the middle of the Mountains.....not a happy thought.
So back to work and,

Go Big Red !

One thing Chins made mention of at his last press conference is the juco guys he has coached that played on sundays generally took two years ot transition to division one play after they transferred from juco. As much as we would like to have omar win the Heisman year one. It may have to wait until year two.

Thanks for the insight Brotherman. It is appreciated. Stay safe out there in the wild

In Frost's offense running the routes correctly and being willing/able to block downfield matter - I am guessing that is what is taking Manning some time. There is alot of tricks to - like selling double moves in the context of the offense - takes time.

If it was run deep or a slant every play - yeah he would be easier to bring in - but if he is supposed to lead block the bubble screen for WR1 - I think we all agree Kade is the better dude to have out there.

Until our coaches nurture the alphas into the starters our culture cannot improve.

It seems like our alphas endure unnecessary sniping within our local environment. Fix that. Reward alphas. Let pretty boys migrate down into the swill so that the cream can rise.
