Be thankful it's a night game but it's going to be god-awful hot in Fresno Saturday.

Projected high is 104 (the record for that date is 106).

The Bulldogs, terrible at covering the pass this year, are worried about our rushing attack.

They have amassed ONLY 655 yards of offense on the entire season. Their pass defense has surrendered 692 yards

They're terrible at open-field tackling too.

Plus- they are terrible in the first quarter.

Preseason I was worried we might lose this game.....late start, FSU had a good team in the past, spread attack, first road game, trap game with Miami coming up etc. etc. I'm still worried, but not about losing. I think we will win, and win comfortably, but I think this team needs more than a win right now. We really need to right this ship if we are going to beat Miami and make our mark in the BIG. Without some real progress I'm going to feel less than excited after this game.

This game has the potential to be a barn burner. And not just because of the drought and high temperatures.

They have also won their last 13 home games. And, they are 13-0 in night games over the last 2 years.

That was Carr's team. He's gone as is, apparently 90% of their offense.

They're one of the five worst offensive performers so far this season.

Let's see if the right Husker team shows up.

If I am concerned about anything it's 100 degrees and a practically 10p start time.

Don't worry, Bo's near refusal to blitz or pressure opposing teams virtually guarantees Fresno State will have a record offensive night.

There's nothing like letting a bad team get on a roll and confident if you want an exciting game.
As for the weather, already getting hot out this way. I'm on the coast and it is unseasonably warm. Would want no part of the valley.

Make sure you have the CBS Sports Network for this one. I had to add that channel for this weekend - it's on the same tier as the NFL Redzone and a few other sports channels. My cable company said just call back when I want to take it off and they will only charge me for the days I use it.

104 degrees? Hope the guys hydrate, hydrate and re-hydrate well before game time.

I think the heat was a big factor in MSU's fade in the fourth vs. Oregon.

If it was heat it was the Oregon Duck offense. It was warm there but not like Fresno, not even close.

orly?

"But the high-flying Oregon offense — combined with temperatures approaching 100 degrees — appeared to wear on Michigan State as the game went on."

And apparently Dantonio knew it would be an issue:

http://www.freep.com/article/20140904/SPORTS07/309040047/michigan-state-spartans-practice

"After a mild summer, the Spartans are about to encounter the hottest day in memory. The forecast for Saturday’s game between No. 7 MSU (1-0) and No. 3 Oregon (1-0) is for sun and temperatures in the mid-90s, so MSU’s coaches are doing all they can to be ready.

That includes staying on their players about drinking fluids as often as possible.

“Coach (Mark Dantonio) has put in our ear that we just need to hydrate and drink as much water as we can … and take care of your body,” MSU senior receiver Tony Lippett said.

“I know that sounds simple,” MSU co-offensive coordinator Jim Bollman said, “but it is something that you have to stay after the guys about doing throughout the week.”"

Nope. Heat was an issue for them; it will be for us, too.

I didn't think it was normally that hot in Eugene, OR. Why would Oregon have such a big advantage in the heat? My uncle lived there for years and I thought it was mild compared to the heat we get here..... Unless global warming has changed everything.... :)

No kidding. I would have never imagined it could be that hot there. I would have always guessed that in a game with hot temps, it would always favor the Midwest boys not Oregon.

And I would be wrong, apparently.

Moved from Seattle to TX in '91. Drove a rental moving truck through OR in late Sept. Stopped in AZ on the way to watch the Huskers beat ASU. The temps in OR were 100+. Had to keep my eyes on the temp gauge to make sure it wasn't overheating. It gets hot there. I can't remember my route. Not through Eugene though, for sure.
