Nebraska/Minnesota opening line

Going to be a challenge Minny is rested and and has used the week off to study Nebraska. The team has to be spent from the ups a downs of the past weeks.

It's a home game for Minny, They've had a week off to recoup and study NU's game film. We've had 2 very physical games. Meh

We may sneak out a win, which we desperately need but I don't think it will be NW 2.0.

Minnesota will do what it does. It will ride on its running game/play action passing and force Nebraska's ends and linebackers to fill gaps correctly, stay at home on cutbacks, flow correctly and make tackles and on the passing game, cover TEs, deep passes and QB rollouts. If Nebraska can do that, it should keep Minnesota's offense in check.
On Defense, Minnesota will try to play sound defense but I suspect they will put as much pressure on Nebraska's offensive line and like everyone else force AM to make good decisions and depending on what its offense does, it will wait for Nebraska to makes mistakes.
The line is NU 3. In my mind that means that NU is really favored by 10 but the experts are already factoring in something that costs Nebraska 7 points - ;)

NU played one score games with two top ten teams— Minnesota lost to Bowling Green— do you think NU should be favored by more or less?

I would think that there will be a lot of opening action on Nebraska at 2.5. -10 I could understand. Seems like there's a sucker play going on here and they know something we don't.

The betting line takes everything into account. Yes Minnesota lost to Bowling Green, but they also beat Colorado 30-0, who came within an eyelash of beating Texas A&M, who beat Alabama yesterday. They were as competitive against Ohio St as Nebraska was against their three Top 10 opponents. I think the opening line reflects both teams body of work to date pretty accurately. Minnesota lost a great back, but it's the O line that gets the running game churning, and they have controlled the Huskers up front the last few years. Minny at home off a bye week is going to be tough.

What concerns me is if it is not NW 2.0 and we are expecting the Huskers to "sneak out a win" I don't like their chances. A nail biter favors Nebraska opponents by a wide margin. I hope the Huskers come out and just open up a can on the Rodents. If not we may all be singing the blues Saturday evening again.

Any team that found a way to lose to Illinois can find a way to lose to Minnesota. Also consider that Minnesota beat us last year on our home field with 1/3rd of their roster out from Covid. They will be ready and they will out-coach us. Our players are going to have to bring it, it’s going to be a rock fight.

I look at matchups more than I do comparative scores. We have not matched up well against Minn lately.

If you have a good running game you can beat Nebraska. We can't stop 3rd and short it seems.

I have no confidence that this Husker team has the mental toughness to win against any team on their remaining schedule. I could be wrong and hope that i am, but there is something missing in the psyche of this team.
