I'm thinking 8-4. Normally, I would be p!ssed about 8-4, but considering the mess that Riley left us, 8-4 combined with playing disciplined football will be a big step forward. I'm thinking we won't see the 63-10 blowouts either.......:nonono2:

National Championship baby!

Just kidding. I expect a decent turnaround, but I think the schedule and new system will affect the win total a bit. That being said, I don't think 8-4 is out of the question, with an outside shot at 9-3

With Frost and staff sniffing around the Jucos this week I suspect they could gain significantly on this years record. Or at least make an attempt to better that mark. Frost seems to transition well if you look at UCF quick turnaround.

For myself, I'm always willing to grab the cream of the jucos when available. That said, I want to get back to recruiting high school athletes and develop them and not have to field them until they are ready.

Take the cream of Junior college when you can get them, but work hard at bringing back development of those willing to stick around. That's where the locals come in.

Lets see:

Sept. 1 Akron W
Sept. 8 Colorado W
Sept. 15 Troy W
Sept. 22 at Michigan L
Sept. 29 Purdue W
Oct. 6 at Wisconsin L
Oct. 13 at Northwestern W
Oct. 20 Minnesota W
Oct. 27 BYE
Nov. 3 at Ohio State L
Nov. 10 Illinois W
Nov. 17 Michigan State L
Nov. 23 at Iowa L

Early and quick prognosis 7 and 5.

The NW, MSU, and Iowega games are tossups.

UM and UW are probably 75% chance or greater for a loss, OSU a 95+% chance of loss.

12-0 I am always the optimist.
I think you are right, and I'm also changing my prediction. Undefeated and the Natty, and if not, fire the entire lot of them and start over next November! :highly_amused:

I want to say 12-0 but realistically I will be happy to see steady improvement throughout the season and will be happy with anything above 6&6..... honestly we all should temper our hopes with a dose of white hot reality.....if we do go say say 7-5 or better then that also raises 2019 expectations......sure it will be great if in year 2 we could win the Conference Championship and who knows it might happen.....(if it does we will need a 24 hour a day bodyguards on Frost to keep the NFL away from him)......just saying.....

Doc.

Really unsure about next year--mostly just want to see a better product on the field and return the program to the correct trajectory--we finished 4-8 this year and were really close to 2-10--had four different teams hang 50 on us---

All that said, I don't believe we had 4-8 talent--with any development at all, we should have been better at every position--and with any effort at all, we wouldn't have let Minnesota put 54 points on the board

I believe SF has actually walked into a nice situation--decent talent that wants to be led, a united fanbase and relatively low expectations (at least in year 1)

With a gun to my head, I would guess 7-5 in 2018, but would not be surprised with something better

After the failed Chip Kelly experiment in the NFL, I don't see any NFL guys sniffing around college coaches that use this style of offense --at least not for a few years
