Mike'L getting real about Frost on twitter

Hookers, booze, cocaine and perhaps some golf
Hookers - maybe but not heard a specific example
Booze - yeah - major issue - the staff the last 2 seasons were essentially Scott's drinking buddies
Coke - again - not heard that specific
Golf - yes - but even more important Frost missing multiple commitments, rolling into practice late regularly, etc.

The situation with Dylan Raiola should have got Frost fired. You commit to showing up in person. Last minute decide to make it a Zoom call. Family is PISSED and cross Nebraska off the list. Ridiculous. Bo refused to show up a recruits homes frequently - but at least he was honest and said up front - nope not gonna be there. (Bo was an asshat - but at least he was a mostly honest asshat. His comment about Eichorst were spot on - but you can't pour 10 gallons of gasoline on a fire and not expect career implications - Bo does not understand that - or doesn't care)

I was joking about the hookers, booze, etc. Sort of.

I still wanna know what the hell happened between Frost and Moos.
We'll probably never know the full story. But I'll likely go to my grave believing that the whole "Nebraska wants to pull out of the OU series" PR fiasco was a catalyst.

I think Moos was (rightly) steamed about it. His riff with his head football coach started (or grew) when Frost went to Carter and Green on the issue -- and it naturally got leaked. Ironically, it was Bill who stepped into the public spotlight and salvaged some of the University's self-respect after the PR hit we took.

But in the aftermath, a miffed Bill couldn't resist publicly opining that he thought winning 8 games was a reasonable expectation, THAT apparently pissed off Scott and set off fireworks between our coach and his AD.

I'm not saying there might not have been other factors involved in Moos' canning, but its easy to find reasons to fire somebody if the Powers-that-Be felt the need to show their support for our head coach.

Speaking of the University's academic Powers-that-Be, I will also go to my grave believing that they weighed in heavily on the decision that was made to keep Scott last year.

Is that basically what happened? For the #1 HS QB recruit in the country?

That's what I've read on other public forums. Also that it was a last-minute choice by Frost because he had gotten way too hammered the day before. No idea if that's true or just somebody having fun with all the other stories that have been circulating for a while :|

I may be in the minority here. I no longer give a flying flip what the circumstances are or were. I'm extremely sad and disappointed that this is the way Frost's tenure here ended.

Like others have said, I hope he takes the time to get his act together. He's a young guy with a wife and 2 pretty small children. There is so much more to life than football and he needs to get his act together (if the rumors are correct) before his life completely implodes and he loses those babies.

He’s being handed a check for $15M. If the rumors are true and she’s not happy about it, she can lawyer up then walk out the door right now and be set for life.

<sigh> It's not a flippin football prgm anymore.

It's a soap opera.

Seems like it's gonna be a long, grim season or two. Again.

Oh, well. Scarlet and Cream, all the way.

gbr

Not where I'm going. It's just that is an absolutely crazy event, if it is even remotely true.

Can you guys get Whitesnake Here I go Again to play in the background on BHF at all times?

Yes, she certainly can and she will have the financial means to fight him tooth and nail regarding( visitation rights, etc. It behooves him to get it together, again, providing rumors are true.

I find it really hard to believe all was as bad as what is being said. How could it be? How could it get that bad? There should have been safeguards in place or a safe way of reporting what was happening and a process to discipline or if needed rehab. What kind of athletic program are they running down there?

I'm still curious as a cat what the backstory is. But I understand and share yr view. He's got some shi* to get together, it seems.

Makes for a good soap op.

While avoiding going into any of the details, Damon Benning said on his radio show is that Frost had a whole lot of enablers throughout his tenure. The same environment that can be super-supportive of a head coach can also become the proverbial "The Emperor has no clothes" story.

It's interesting to note that once Frost was out the door, suddenly its all starting to come pouring out all at once which leads to a natural, "it's really hard to believe it got that bad" reaction to it all.

I think its been a couple of years when the first coming in late, rolling in at noon, not working as much as he/the coaching staff should started to show up online.
Is Mike'L Severe talking about things he is witness to or has heard from AD members and/or former players, etc or things he's seen on message boards. How the team played and responded to situations the last few years I wouldn't be surprised if the coaching related issues happened.

Setting aside football and all such things, it sounds like he might be at a pivotal point in his career, and life

He’s my age…I can relate. I wish the Navy would have given me $15 mill to Go Away…Hahaha.

They did give me a heck of a retirement ceremony and flew my daughter down to Texas(she’s active duty) to recite “The Watch” in my back yard. Oh and I got a signed Authentic Aaron Rodgers and Packer team Football.

I’ll take the surprise of my daughter reciting the watch and me saluting her in front of my family over $15 mill any day though.

I'm certainly not a Frost apologist. And I'm sure there were things going on behind the scenes. But I hate to see innuendo and rumors become "truth". How much of this crap do we really have evidence for? If all of this stuff was occurring from the beginning, then why did Moos give Frost an extension in 2019? If all of this stuff continued to occur, then why did Alberts give Frost another year? Those two guys were derelict in their duty if these rumors were real and they did nothing.

Based just on his record and the incompetence on the field, it was time for Frost to go. I'd just as soon see us drop all of the sordid rumors and move ahead. We have a new day with Mickey Joseph. Let's don't dwell on the past.

Yup, that was my point with no longer caring about the whys and wherefores. That's the past and we have the rest of the season to anticipate. Plus a coaching search to follow and speculate on ad nauseum. ;horse

I'm done with it. Having said that, if there is truth to what has been said, more than Frost needs to move on from this program.

So, we are calling Trev Alberts a liar. He said Scott worked his tail off to win and did everything he could. He said he loves Frost etc... If that is not the case all he has to do is stick to the facts and point to the win loss record.
