Got a call and did some fact checking and Wikipedia is already posting Whipple as A Coach at Nebraska.
Heard thru our friends that this MIGHT BE THE GUY AND A DONE DEAL ?
He was at Pitt and met with Frost Sunday after talking to true dual threat transfer QB Chubba Purdy from Arizona who is a Florida St. transfer in the portal.
Now don't know exactly what all this truly means yet but I'm hearing good things about the situation.
Whipple likes a Run Based balanced type Offense but also has deep option football roots ( this I heard from those that do know )
So just a heads up and worth following.

Ah you beat me to it Doc, he has an impressive resume and was the OC who mentored Big Ben (youngest QB to ever win a Super Bowl) with the Steelers.

Me personally is that while he has the resume you still need the Jimmy and Joes to make it work. His age and experience could be a good help to HCSF who honestly is still somewhat green as a HC

Did you hear we offered Quinn from ND the o line job? Word was that is the next domino. But who knows

Quinn supposedly is getting oline offer from LSU as well - but rumor is he interviewed with Frost.

It's sounding like Quinn From Notre Dame is "N"...is what we are being told as of now.

Also that Chubba Purdy the QB transfer from F.S.U. is liking The Nebraska news threads also. ?.....it might not mean anything but Whipple was on him right after visit with Frost and he liked the idea. So ??????

Sounds like things are rounding out quickly now.

There's dominoes and there's Dominoes. I like the way the dominoes are starting to fall in Lincoln but don't eat there. The pizza sucks. Hey we should start a thread about pizza. Or hijack one. That would be interesting.

Anyhow I like the idea of Huskers playing Whipple Ball. Let's hope he's the guy.

I am no expert on choosing OC's but from his bio it looks like a good hire. Besides an OC he looks like a very credible QB coach. If both him and Quinn are N then this was a very good coach recruiting class.

Whipple, Quinn, and Joseph. I would say this is a significant upgrade in the coaching staff. Fingers crossed.

And here I was seeing Mr. Whipple, shaking his finger, while saying "Please don't squeeze the Charmain!"

Sounds like good coaches overall. Not sure 100% on Whipple since Pitt kind of came out of nowhere this year. Just so it wasn't a "lightning in a bottle" or "flash in the pan".
 
I did some Perdy good investigation on Whipple and while he is an east coast guy (which don't hurt recruiting that part of the country like we used to) and he has always (as an OC) had very productive offenses. Not earth shattering but good.
His QB coaching is fantastic as most of you know but I'm more interested in the meat n taters stuff and this guy loves old school run it down your throat ball. He has never really had the talent level to work with like he will at Nebraska plus he is 64 yrs old so and been a H.C. more than a couple of times and could be a great influence on Frost.
I'm liking everything I find and read about him.
One thing for sure....he knows the game inside and out.
Understands how the flow of how a game goes and likes tough hard nosed football.....and that's music to our ears.

Still looking up things about Quinn but so far That's a great hire if it happens like we hear.
It's obvious he likes big, tough, lanky, long armed, Linemen with a nasty streak

We did notice now you mention this that the original post about Whipple has been changed to different wording than we originally happened to catch it when looking him up so maybe some baboon is yanking chains ? ?

Yeah I better re state my position that none of what we were told like we stated above is a for sure thing. I will believe it when the Announcements come from the University.....till then I'm not feeding into the Trolls bull crap.
