Hate to say it, but I have given up any hope for Scott Frost

I guess that at this stage of life I've gotten to the que sera moment when it comes to Husker football. Frost's job security issues are his, not mine. Next season is his to impress or screw up. (history suggests more of the same) Personally I don't care if he succeeds with a power running game or with Air Coryell, as long as the Huskers regain relevance. He must win at minimum 8 or 9 games next season. There is no possible way that he survives with anything less. I wish him luck.

He was given one last lifeline to make this work and then returns with an air-raided offensive coordinator as his top choice. The guy is a full-blown idiot is what that shows.

I truly hope for your health's sake......not!, that we go at least 9-3 next year, as you just may be speechless with all that egg on your face.

Whipple just resigned at Pitt - THAT would be a good hire if he ends up in Lincoln.

If we get Quinn, Whipple to go with the others on staff, then I will have some hope again. That Graham Harrell news really pissed me off last night.

Graham Harrell rumor. As the Quinn and Whipple "news" are rumors. With Doc's message the Quinn and Whipple "news" seems more credible, but until they're introduced, still rumors.

It's getting easier for me to just roll with the flow. SF is either going to get it right or he'll be gone. Nothing any of us on here, save Doc Holiday, can do so I'm just not worrying or stressing about it.

Woah...does Doc have some say in the selection process? What did I miss?

No, but he does have SF's ear, along with a bunch of former players. Who knows what SF might unconsciously retain. Know what I mean? I meant that more for once we get into practice when former players are around. They have an impact with the players and with the coaching staff. Lead by example and all that.

While I am not happy with the W/L record. It is not all gloom and doom. I see many reasons to be enthused. For the first time in many years, I am seeing NU players on the All-Conference teams. I suspect we will see several of them drafted into the NFL. To me this is definite proof that recruiting has improved and player development is happening. This is a big part of the equation to winning football.

There are three things that add up to winning football. Coaching, talent and luck. It appears that NU has the talent. What we have been missing is coaching and luck. I like the looks of the pending incoming coaches. We will see if they mesh and develop a winning team. But unlike the previous staff they are proven and accomplished coaches. I see no reason that will not continue. That leaves luck. My experience shows me confidence brings luck. When you have no doubt that you can pull off a play, that play works. The teams we have been fielding have been waiting for something to happen instead of making it happen. We need a new attitude that gets us that lucky stop, get those extra yards after contact or allows us to make that catch in traffic.

Gotcha. Hopefully he got very deep in Frost's ear when Harrell was being considered! Just 5 hours ago Doc was thinking that was the choice.

I think Doc should gather his former teammates and take on the "new" Huskers...no holds barred, and see if the young guys can get what it meant/means to be a Husker.

Sorry Doc, it's a challenge. You have to accept. No but, but, buts. :-)

LOL, that could be very interesting.

My money is on Doc and friends.

I'll take a wait and see if that is the case. He's a little too pass heavy for my taste. He will need to develop a power run game in the Big 10 if he is going to be successful.

Frost hasn't learned a thing from the last 4 years. What makes you think there is any chance that we will now have a power running game with these hires?

These look like very good hires. We need an O'line coach who wants strong and nasty linemen with an attitude. There is no excuse for the false starts, missed blocks, holds and getting pushed around that have appeared to be unnecessary most of the time. There isn't an offense in the country that can be successful with the kind of O'line play we have displayed at times over the past 4 years.

I'm in the wait and see camp, but feel a bit more optimistic today.
