Emmett Johnson **Staying***

Well someone can go back and look at who the Captains were before the game, if they want to. It isn't classified info.
If a conspiracy requires an investigation or any effort whatsoever it is no longer a conspiracy. It then becomes analysis. I don't have the mental intellect to analysis things and stuff like that.

OK I couldn't see the video either. Satterfield is an arsehat and should be fired. EJ has been our best RB the past 2 seasons. Should've been starting the whole year. And if Satterfield had issues with EJ, he and EJ should've had a race to see who'd win. Loser leaves town. EJ would've won.

This is who made the video. Satterfield is not a good coordinator and he and the position coaches screwed up plenty and it seems obvious they pushed Johnson to the portal through general incompetence. But the guy who claims Satterfield stumbled on to the practice field drunk and verbally abused EJ is FAMOUS for being a giant loser who makes sh*t up.

Ah ok. Still Satterfield needs to move on from Nebraska. He sucks as a coach and I don't want sucky coaches at Nebraska.

...and that Adam C. guy too! Says anything for clicks. Maybe fewer details, but says the same thing. Has Rhule spoken with EJ since he declared for the portal? This will all come out in the wash.
I see on some other boards there is a very small, BUT VERY VOCAL, group seeking to discredit this story by discrediting Dittman. The problem is, Carriker has a slightly more modest story that mirrors Dittman's. Put out at almost the same time. Care to discredit Carriker? He strikes me as a very moral man.

Okay, Okay, Okay, I admit it--I was wrong.

I remembered instances where portal players returned in the past, but for some strange reason, I forgot we're in an honest-to-God bowl game this year.
Cally wasn't bad as an OC but sucked as a head coach. The worst Husker coordinator (by far) IMHO was Kevin Cosgrove.
My referal was about Callahans terrible play calling

Straight up. And for those of you thinking EJ or any of the other former Huskers in the TP may still return to Nebraska...

It's Storytime

The following is based off of a true story. Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent.

So anywhays, back in the day when Hunch was still upright, I was engaged to this broad for two years. About 3-4 weeks before the wedding, I said to her I said "Hey Braskie (Her name was Nebraska, but I called her Braskie), you mind if I play the field for a couple of months, just to see if there's anyone out there I might be more compatible with? If I don't connect with anyone in the next month or two, maybe we can hook up again later? I explained I just wanted to make sure we were doing the right thing. She was cool with it.

I find this was a great plan. Any woman who wouldn't go along with it is not a keeper. Open mindedness on the part of the woman is the key to a successful marriage. Sure, I've had two ex wives who didn't agree, but that is beside the point. Just my two cents.

As someone who spent 20 years as a reporter, it's a sad day when some kid making videos in his parents' basement can create such a firestorm. People will do anything for clicks these days. He has no named sources. Does anyone have even a little healthy cynicism these days, or do we just believe every piece of gossip an amateur outlet wants to foist upon us?

A number of factors pushed EJ into the portal. It's clear he didn't get as much playing time as many of us expected. It's logical that he wants to see what else is out there.

It's also clear that Satterfield was a sub-par OC -- true at Nebraska and his other stops. Satterfield no longer calls plays. The question now is whether he stays on staff. If there is as much dysfunction in his player relationships as the rumor mill states, he won't survive. But fortunately, he is no longer a major cog in the machine.

Do you have any sources you would care to name who can expound on those "number of factors"? Or is it just gossip? Inferring to YOUR unnamed sources of other factors, you conclude, LOGICALLY, the story is false?
Thank you spin doctor.
1.) He's standing by his story.
2.) Adam Carriker has a less detailed video that was released almost at the same time that tells a similar story.
3.) A local radio guy referred to the situation and further corroborated that the story has legs.
There's too much smoke for there not to be an investigation.
I suspect a plan is being formulated that is based on culpable deniability. That no statement has come out tells me they are trying to find out what is known and what else will come out.
Thanks again for trying to bury a real situation that has impacted a year where hundreds of little things could have changed our record from 6-6 to 8-4.

Now, to be fair. Not EVERYTHING stated in Dittman's video may be true. Was Satt drunk or did he just have alcohol on his breath? What was the tone he used when he told EJ he hated him?
How much did Rhule know of all this?
I would like a little investigative reporting. Not claims of dismissal because "I know better than you."

I cannot speak to the authenticity of Dittman's claim. But I have serious doubts when I consider the source. The kid has proven to me on more than one occasion that he's cool with, at best, deliberately misleading his viewers for clicks.

From what I've seen in sports, politics, or public health, the answer is unquestionably YES. :(

So lets break down what has been said. :naughty:
  1. EJ didn't get much playing time until Holgerson arrived, then became the featured back
  2. EJ was supposed to be the starter going into each of the last two years, but Satt made a last minute change each year.
  3. Satt did not like EJ and told him so.
So if you take these first three allogations, there is nothing inappropriate. Satt may have been wrong, but coaches make chaoices not only on grading but also their gut. Also some coaches and players don't get along. So nothing to see here.

But, there are the following allogations.
  1. Satt came to practice drunk after the OC change. If this is true Satt should be gone ASAP.
  2. Satt told EJ he hated him, while he was drunk at work. If this is true Satt should be gone ASAP.
  3. Other staff witnessed Satt being intoxicated at practice and did nothing. Staff memebers needs to be dicisplined, up to termination.
  4. Staff and administarion are trying to cover this up. Now the house of cards starts falling.
So if any of the last 4 are true then there is an issue.

Damn...I wuz wrong again! :ashamed0001::ashamed0001::ashamed0001:
I’d consider it a tie between the two.

Matt didn’t fire Satt (on DH’s suggestion), but at least he did move him out……twice. He took qb coaching away, and one and a half years into a mistake, moved him out of OC/play calling. Late? Yes, but we didn’t have to live with that mistake forever.

According to Dittman's video he stated after DH watched EJ practice, DH stated why is #21 not playing? My question is the whole coaching should be in question. Did the RB coach have any say..he watched him practice. Certainly I would assume the defensive staff would of gave some input. Hey why aren't you playing EJ he's the toughest RB we have to defend against. I watched that entire video before it was taken down. Aren't any of these coaches on the same page and giving honest assessments of the entire team's evaluation. Especially MR. Prior to DH arrival EJ played very little. When he did get in I said why isn't he playing more. Many weeks ago we had a Facebook post regarding EJs limited playing time and we were all in agreement he should have been starting. So if us unknowlegable fans can see the difference I would certainly the coaching staff would be able to.

It baffles the mind. Myself and a few others have been saying since last year that EJ should be the starter. The last 3 games of this season showed we were correct. He should've been the starter. The other thing that baffled me is why did we let EJ get all the tough yards but pull him in favor of Dowdell to score TDs? I get DD is a big back buy EJ fought for yards and far more agile than DD.
