Glad they are not considering you for the AD opening, as NO ONE with any credentials would accept that offer

GBR

If it was like the private sector and everyone was doing it, they'd have no choice.

And honestly, I am sick and tired of this notion that we have to pay sh***y coaches millions of dollars after they've been fired for not winning and/or incompetence.

People at the bottom of society are fired every single day and get nothing--oh but college football coaches are special snowflakes who deserve millions for failing...no offense Red, but f that stuff.

Terminations are always hard times for me to deal with. First, because someone's life is just getting torn apart, and second, because it is an indicator that things aren't the way they should be. We are at that point, and have been for some time. Someone mentioned a "turnstile" in another thread. Yes, it is time to get out, and go on......and up......but the pain and patience that is required in the meantime isn't going to be fun for me.

The next hire, and whichever ones follow, are very, very, very important. We are getting perilously close to losing our biggest asset.......ie our fan base. We need this thing to click.......and soon.

I think we need to draw an extremely large distinction here...

If we're talking about average people being fired, then yes that is a tough deal.

However, we're talking about millionaire coaches here. And not to sound uncaring or crass, but someone making 500K, 1 million, (or in the case of Mike Riley) 3 million plus a year...I shed no tears or have no worry when people like that get fired.

Yeah. Pretty much this. For coaches it is an ego shot. For us regular folks it it taking care of our families.
