Eichorst is out

Holy smokes.....

I'm betting that Dr. Tom won't be there to right the ship again.

Riley's seat is officially burning......

The big question is what has happened? How far will it go?

It puts Riley and Miles' heads squarely on the chopping block. Both will have this season to show improvement, without improvement, both are most likely gone.

I'm betting there are either serious feelers out to a candidate, or he wants to take his time and make this a prolongated search. Make no mistake: Riley is certainly on the block.

Wow! I'm very surprised - I didn't figure anything would happen until after the Rutgers game. And only if they lost.

Never want to see someone fired, but ADSE was never a fit here. Now the important thing is to bring in a quality AD to take a look at all the sports and evaluate where we are at. Just because we fired the AD doesn't mean that Riley is gone. This was about more than our lost to Northern Illinois...

Wowsers. Surprised like most that it happened now. Read a tweet that said moving from T.O. to S.E. was going from being cared about to an item. Would be interesting to know behind the scenes.

Maybe they bring Dr. Jamie Williams back from Maryland? Would appease the "one of our own" crowd...

While I know that some Husker "fans" scoff at the "Tradition Coalition" the fact of the matter is, NU football has lost its identity. Former players have said so.

Part of me would love to have Alvarez back here, but he is pretty entrenched in WI, and he did recommend Eichorst

I am surprised that it happened now, I was thinking it would happen towards the end of a losing season.

As stated earlier, the temperature on Riley's seat is now extremely hot.

This is what I simply cannot understand: Mike Riley's entire offensive approach is soft and passive. This approach has given him losing season after losing and yet he still does the same thing over and over--what's the definition of insanity again?

I sometimes wonder what plane of reality some football coaches live on.

My guess is donors of substance spoke up.

As they should. What we saw last Saturday night was just flat out inexcusable. With Eichorst getting the axe, Riley has to know he's next.
