EA Sports College Football Video Game

A "90" rating for Indiana? Personally, I will be shocked if Indiana is in the Top Ten this season.

It also won't shock me if they leave Lincoln with an 'L.'

Count me in the category of people who will be shocked if Nebraska beats Indiana. I mean I see the reasons why Nebraska could win, I just don't think they will. Right now, we're terrible vs ranked teams regardless if we're at home and especially if we're on the road. It'll take Nebraska winning some games vs ranked teams to get over my pessimism. Just saying.

And, to the point of this video game thread, a team with an 85 offense and 82 defense will do just fine against like rated teams, but if you play a team that is 90+ on offense, defense, and overall, especially if you're on the road, you're going to most likely get beat and beat pretty badly. At least that's how it is with the '25 and '26 games. And I am done with EA and their garbage football game so I am not going to buy the '27.

(I say that now, but video game stupidity may take hold and I might buy it because well, when it comes to video games, I tend to buy. :( :ack2: )

Offense: 85
Defense: 82
Overall: 83

On the game, you won't be able to score points against the better teams and won't be able to stop any team with that terrible defense.

Sign of the times!
I KNOW BETTER.

It's just a stupid video game. But... It's July and I'm anxious to see how the new defense and Husker signal caller looks...

Oh, what's it going to hurt, right?

The thing about these games anymore is that they are SO dang realistic. Memorial Stadium looks perfect. So I get drawn into the dang game...

I don't mind seeing our players make plays but what embarrasses me is that I always get disgusted with bad plays. I should KNOW it's just a damn video game fantasy, right? But it never fails---I find myself wanting to grouse to all of you about something afterwards. Sigh.

I'm getting that itch to buy the '27 college football game. I think there's a cream for that itch. LOL.

I keep telling myself: Don't get suckered into buying that EA garbage. It's still the same game with the same mediocre defense that will cause you to rage when your CBs just forget to cover their guy and the computer team scores 3 easy TDs.

Are you being serious with that ^^^^ ? You actually wonder why I'm not not shocked?

After every season you call the game a piece of sh*t and swear you'll NEVER, EVER play it again.

Then when the new version comes out, we hear: "Oh, I dunno, maybe.." or "I'm getting the itch..." or "I hear they've made improvements..." or similar lines.

Then the next thing we'll hear is:

"Hey guys, I'm playing the new Nebraska season on EA27!" :) ;)

Nah, I'm not buying the game. All it does is ragebait me...

1. I bought the 2025 game because I was excited for the return of a college football game. After playing it, was disappointed.

2. I bought the 2026 game because I, for some incomprehensible reason, thought they'd fix the issues from the previous year. They not only didn't fix the core gameplay issues, they actually made it worse.

So that's why I will not be buying the 2027 game although admittedly I did ponder buying it for a short time.

One of the single most absolute rage inducing problems from the 2026 game was the play of my CBs, especially in press, man-to-man coverage. Pretty much every team I ever played this happened: The ball is snapped and my CB just stands there. Literally, my CB just stands there not covering his guy and the computer controlled offense gets a quick, easy, one play TD pass of 50+ yards. And that happened 3-4 times every single game.

So no, I will not be shelling out the 80 or so dollars to get more of the same garbage from EA.

For the record, I promise not to tease you when you change your mind. :)

FWIW, the graphics are incredible. That Ohio season opener looks like the real thing.

Oh there is no question the graphics, look, and feel of the game are *chef's kiss*. The actual playing of the game... :ack2:
