Don’t take it in the parking lot of Memorial Stadium. That’s probably where he’s crying. A bottle of Jack in one hand, and I don’t even want to guess what’s in the other hand.
LOL, you just put a picture in my brain that I'll never going to be able to get out of my head.

Hey SOC you can take up half of all conversations or threads but if someone has a different point then you ban them or delete... typical. I'll save you the trouble alright. Nice knowing all you folks. I have no idea where this SOC came from. Probably Minneapolis.

You would have to ask Charlie where I came from. He was there and I was not. Yet. ;)

Well if you will pardon my lack of political correctness here...."the party is over, the fat opera lady has sung her tune" now to focus on recruiting, what's going to happen to our current roster, who will go....who will stay, what about eligibility and who pays for the extended scholarship, who will take a chance of injury for a 5th year Senior season that likely will be more like an episode of keystone cops than anything resembling a true season at all, how in the Hell are we going to host teams in Lincoln in January or February....? Nobody in their right mind is going to wanna play too many games in sub zero temps and everything is frozen solid and I haven't even touched on the wind yet.....unless we have a enclosed dome someplace that will accommodate our needs I don't know about.....just how in all that's fair and right is that supposed to work....like I said keystone cops....
But oh well it is what it is now......sad sad day.

That's what I was thinking -- it's not just DONU that has lousy weather in Dec, Jan, Feb

Good points about playing in the Winter/Spring Doc. The media is already crucifying anyone who suggests playing in the Spring is a good idea. Whether it's Rece Davis, Urban Meyer, etc, etc. there are a whole a lot of people (mostly media) are trying to make sure Spring is shot down before it has a chance, and not based on Covid-19. Rece Davis goes as far to say "If you’re going to do that and play 20 games maybe, 18-21 games in less than a calendar year, don’t talk to me about safety anymore. I don’t want to hear it. It’s disingenuous if that’s the case.”

Urban Meyer: No chance of a spring college football season

It seems to me that it's just a strategy to kick the can down the road, and the Big10 will most likely pull the rug out from the season again in the Spring. There is much speculation that this approach is being used to dangle a carrot to keep the players from transferring/revolting, but I'm not sure how much stock I place in that being true. I'm not a conspiracy guy, and I prefer to base my conclusions on data and facts. But, with all the comments about Spring being bad for the players "safety", how can the Big10 cancel the fall based on "safety of the players", and turn around and forge ahead with a plan for Spring that many "experts" are saying is bad for the safety of the players?? :Iono3:

Cancelling the sports in the fall, from my perspective, is for the safety of the country, not just the players.

Saying that there may be football in the spring is to help the people still in shock of the decision have a feeling of hope to cling onto for a while longer.

Actually playing in the spring will be detrimental to the players in particular. Ignoring that I don’t expect a solid vaccine to be in place by the spring, the physical toll of a full spring season needs sufficient time for recovery. I’d expect a lot more draft-eligible players to skip the spring season than have decided to skip the fall, including Trevor Lawrence.

Domes and bubbles. West in Indy, East in Detroit. 100 people/personnel per school. Closed/locked down environment. Athletes have to stay there 3 months. Can't leave, can't go offsite. Distance learning. Play everyone twice or once and its a 6 team season or have an 8 team playoff after the Regular season.
Volleyball could bring all the teams to one location and do the same things.
I'm just spitballing. The players want to play, they may have to isolate for 3 months. Are they willing to do so as college athletes.
They've got - and by they I mean the Big 10 leadership - has 6 months to get the logistics of everything in place. They won't, but they have that time to figure out how to get fall sports to play.

The Pac12 and Big10 have publicly declared they don’t care about their students, athletes, alumni, or fans They represent an ever-shrinking, bitter, radical group of anti-science alarmists who have been trying to destroy football for years

I can't even quantify the amount of irony in this post. And you're lucky I can't say what I want to

It also cures constipation for many.
I love Runza burgers, fries and o-rings but I just don't care for their runzas anymore. When I lived here in 1980, I worked for a printing company and we produced a weekly sales flier. We put that baby to bed on Thursday nights so we would go grab supper and then come back and work late, late, late getting all the adds set, proofed and the paper ready to print. 90% of the time we grabbed runza and I loved runza's then. We didn't have Runza in Leavenworth and I was horrified the first time I had a runza when we moved back. The recipe changed and I don't think for the better.

Player parents aren't letting this go. Snodgrass has 60 husker parents along with several parents from other schools drafting letters expressing their displeasure towards the conference decision.
