Around The B1G - Football Edition

Given the number of transfer outs...they kind of HAD to take the ISU guys even if they might not quite be good enough for what PSU needs. I predict a tough season next year for PSU but also think Campbell will quickly get it back on course. Is he the guy to get them over the top on those tough games (Oregon, tOSU, Michigan) - I dunno - but he seemed to win big games frequently at ISU.
I think Penn State made a mistake in firing James Franklin. They hired a guy who is basically James Franklin already.
In going back and looking at wins and losses from the 2020 season to last season, James Franklin was 8-14 against ranked teams while being ranked and lost 2 games against unranked teams while being ranked. Matt Campbell was 9-15 against ranked teams while being ranked and lost 7 games against unranked teams while being ranked.
Overall Franklin was 64-36 in conference and 30-18 the last 6 years in conference. Campbell was 50-40 in conference and 32-22 the last 6 years.
So not sure Penn St really gained anything by changing coaches.

I figure this is as good of a place to put this. Matt Mitchell is hilarious and this video he compares all SEC schools to their cousin in the B1G...

So what is the breaking point in re: coaching salaries? Because this arms race cannot go on indefinitely.

SEC people love to smell themselves. They, outside of the top two or three, have been so overrated over the last decade. When they play outside of the conferences, they have so many excuses when they lose.

Now that every school is paying players, the SEC loses its dominance in the national title game. Must be a coincidence.
