5-0 Baby

The Kenny Rogers in me would like to point out not only are the Huskers 5-0 straight up, they are also 5-0 ATS. The North Dakota spread opened at 24.5 and closed at 27.5. The Huskers won by 27. If you got in late you lost, but that's your problem for not jumping on the wagon earlier. TWITA
You seem to have your Husker swagger back. That's what I'm talking about. (YSTHYHSBTWITA)

I could be wrong but I am noticing a change of tone from our resident Hunchback this season. :)

I'll say it like this Doc. I hope the Shoutbox is like Vegas. What's said in the box stays in the box. I said some things I'm not proud of in the 1st Q involving a coaching search. :ashamed0001:

Anyhow, 2 things observated yesterday.
1. I've been hesitant to say this too soon but we are 5 games in now. The RBs have been excellent with ball security. Yes there have been a few goofy exchanges but I can't think of a fumble due to contact this year. Kudos

2. I love when AC scrambles because it seems every time he does, Gilmer finds a seam in pass pro and good things happen. I actually think Kwazi should change the spelling of his last name to Glimmer, because when he's on the field there is always hope.

3. I am inclined to break my Shoutbox/Vegas rule to bring up the following. PDog, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it was you that said, and I quote, "Matt Rhule looks like the lunch lady on the sidelines" (trying to restore order in the 1st Q). There is no place for that kind of language, and I did NOT find it funny at all. On the other hand, I was watching the game with my 87-year-old father and when I read your quote, he burst out laughing uncontrollably. Well into the 4th Q every time they would show Rhule on the sideline the "old man" would mumble something about the lunch lady and start laughing again. While I don't approve of your insulting description of our respected head coach, you have made a lasting memory for the old man and me. Not sure why that activated his funny bone, but we haven't laughed that hard in quite some time. FYI, I was laughing at him, not with him. I found your comment appalling.

Great story, Hunch!

My 'father/son' moment yesterday was in the second quarter when the Huskers were near the goal line and lined up in the I formation with a fullback. My son squeezed my shoulder and said, "Omigod, Dad--Don't have a heart attack!"

Hesitant to even post this. When Osborne brought LP back into the fold for the '95 Orange Bowl, honest to God, my FIL jumped up after one of LP's runs and shouted "If he can run like that and then made an uncharacterismy FIL remark for him about what he could do with another woman". Everyone in the room was stunned because the remark was so uncharacteristic for this kind, gentle God fearing man and then we all burst out laughing at the absurdity of the remark.

Sad but true. I think he even shocked himself by what he said.

5-0 sounds great but alas I don't think it's enough yet to get us in to the Top 25 this week. We should do pretty good in the "...also receiving votes" section. We'll get in after our Indiana victory.

My take on IU. Legit on D - especially vs. the run. Offense is good but not elite. If we play our game on D all 4 quarters this is likely going to be a 13-10 type game next week.
