As hard as it was to watch Purdue outplay us for the better part of 58 minutes, it is a little amusing to me that people consider Purdue terrible or something. They are a very scrappy team that is hard nosed. Wisconsin only beat them by 8 in Madison. They also played Louisville to within a TD...

I guess the trick is getting the right guy. I don’t think anyone expects miracles, but showing progress will buy you time as a coach. Our o-line is still terrible and is the main reason Riley is in deep trouble. Can’t run if you can’t block. In year three that is the antithesis of progress...

I am glad the kids did not give up. Purdue played with reckless abandon most of the game and we did not match their intensity. They punched us in the mouth and outplayed us most of the night and we just managed to hang around. It was good to see the kids fight back and steal the win. Purdue...

I am getting more on board with Frost as the top candidate. I think what I find most attractive about his coaching style is he uses some Osborne principles....limited blocking schemes out of multiple formations to me is huge. It makes you appear to be doing a lot but in reality your team is so...

I think 4-1 with a close loss to PSU makes the discussion at least interesting. Remember how bad they drilled the Wolverines. 4-1 while being napalmed at PSU makes it pretty easy to part ways.

And it is not even close. It is an area we need to get much better at.

That has been a huge disappointment to me. Looks like it was not just a Tommy issue.

Sucks Lamar and Eric Lee make the list. Highly hyped, not ready for prime time and they both play the all important CB spots. Ugh

Next year we will have a heavy senior presence. Would love to see Riley make it that far so he can play with a balanced roster for once. A win against the Badgers would certainly help his cause.

Interesting that we start basically 3 seniors and 2 are walk ons. Jones and Kalu if healthy would make it 5.

I concur with the hot for Decker at center. Conrad was not bad but to my eyes Decker is playing at a high level. Might as well cement Stanley as a hot-cold fixture. He is a poor man's Terrell Owens. Hopefully they can get him some stickier gloves.

Lamar Jackson and Eric Lee show how badly we miss Chris Jones. With how good our D has played recently, imagine how they would look with easily our best corner added to the mix. CB is our week link right now, which is not entirely unexpected based on experience.

Ozigbo's way more elusive than most people give him credit for. It seems many stereotype him (I am not sure Langs is not included in this group) as a big plodder who is strictly a power back. He has great feet for a big man and has plenty of breakaway speed. People have amnesia to his 50 yard...

I thought he looked pretty good for his first carries. Ran tough for a frosh.

If Lee does not make better decisions going forward they need to think hard about him as the field general. He has too much gun slinger in him for my liking. I think we were expecting a guy who would checkdown but he seems like TA 2.0 forcing the ball into triple coverage. I suspect the...

Yeah. Pretty much this. For coaches it is an ego shot. For us regular folks it it taking care of our families.

I personally love coach Riley. At least until September :) . He is pretty awesome in most facets except the bottom line one. The disappointing part to me is still his original staff picks. I like our defensive staff currently, and he got rid of Bruce Reed. Still, it looks like he may need to...

Solid post Gator. Can't argue with anything you said.

It is frustrating. I still believe it starts with the o line. We can't run block for, well, you know. And then Langs gets cold feet. I kind of wish we would do like Wisconsin did when their line sucked and fire the coach 3 games in. Their struggles early that season helped make Gary...

I would love to have Louisville's AD, at least from the 10,000 foot view. It is amazing how good they are doing in all 3 major sports. Granted, I know nothing about his dealings with boosters, fans, etc but I want NU to be like that in all 3 sports. Minus Bobby Petrino, of course!
