    Betts has quit again

Instead of trying to understand why young men are so angry and dejected, our society would rather just throw labels like toxic masculinity and incel at them.

    Betts has quit again

I don't know the specifics of Betts' situation, but I do know that a lot of modern young men struggle with purpose. Our culture has eroded a lot of traditional male characteristics and goals while bombarding their lives with video games, social media, and medications. It's no wonder they...

    Betts has quit again

The specialization of kids in sports and extracurricular activities has also contributed to the alienation that many other young people feel. Schools focus so much on sports, band, etc. that kids that don't participate in these activities can feel invisible or of less worth. Also, young people...

    Betts has quit again

That's an interesting point. Sports and hobbies are so specialized for young people now. Some can get by on raw talent, but they are few and far between. Most kids are so trained and cultivated in competitive activities (be it sports, music, chess, etc) early on that it's hard for kids that...

    Betts has quit again

LDS still asks young men to serve 2 year missions. No dating. No worldly entertainment. Limited contact with friends/family. Much of their time is spent studying scriptures, proselytizing, and serving others. They don't get to pick where they're sent. The church assigns them a location. Most...

    Betts has quit again

We have several true freshmen WR's that are speedsters. Do we put them out there right away and let them run fly routes to keep the defense honest? I think we're probably at the point where we have to. I seem to remember Ted Gilmore being a real stickler for not letting WR's get on the field...

Travis Fisher coaches CB's at Syracuse. Former Huskers Jaeden Gould and Jalil Martin also transferred there.

    Betts has quit again

The already thin WR room just got thinner. A few things to cross our fingers about... IGC becomes a reliable 3rd starter with Kemp and Washington Coleman and some of the other freshmen can contribute early We run lots of heavy sets with multiple TE's to take the pressure off the WR's...

    This still Pi$$ۤ me off!

As mentioned earlier in this thread, Harbuagh and Michigan were getting some heat from Wisconsin as well. Here's an article about rumors that Michigan was trying to poach Wisconsin's running back last year...

Future BIG expansion candidates to get to 20 teams

The biggest reason I was excited when we joined the Big 10 was BTN. I'm sure I'm not the only one that got tired of radio and PPV games.

Future BIG expansion candidates to get to 20 teams

Oklahoma State would be very interesting from a football scheme standpoint. Their offense is tailored to the Big 12 and Texas/Oklahoma recruiting. Academically, OSU is ranked #182 out of 443 national universities according to US News and World Report and not an AAU member. Like many state...

    Fall Camp 2023

Yep. Between Prochazka and Hood being hurt, the OT spots got thin in a hurry. That leaves Benhart, Gottula, and Knaak. I'm guessing they'll slide Corcoran out to LT if Prochazka is hurt long term.

Future BIG expansion candidates to get to 20 teams

I'm curious about this too. Do the Pac 12 teams adjust their recruiting and offensive/defensive philosophies to win in the Big 10, or do they keep their current identities? I remember thinking we had better athletes and would roll the other teams when we joined the Big 10. Unfortunately, that's...

Future BIG expansion candidates to get to 20 teams

I sure hope you're right. The conference desperately need some competitive balance. The Pac 12 schools are going to have to prove they can recruit and build teams to win Big 10 slugfests.

Future BIG expansion candidates to get to 20 teams

I really like the way the Big 12 is set up. It's competitively balanced without 1 or 2 teams dominating the conference. Also, the styles of football are quite varied. Until the new Pac 12 additions prove otherwise or ND arrives, I still see the Big 10 being dominated by OSU and Michigan...

Future BIG expansion candidates to get to 20 teams

I can't help but think that forcing ND into the conference is the endgame for the Big 10. By taking some of the heavy hitters off of ND's schedule, ND likely won't make the playoffs even with an undefeated record. Here are ND's opponents in 2024. Texas A+M, Northern Illinois, Purdue, Miami...

Rumor: Possible expansion announcement this week.

It seems ironic that this massive college football expansion and upheaval will quite possibly result in smaller geographic divisions with their own unique identities. We may end up in a new version of the Big 8.

Rumor: Possible expansion announcement this week.

It does seem like the Big 12 is positioning itself as the next best conference to the Big 10/SEC. The ACC and Pac 12 are essentially going to become G5 conferences. In this scenario, the Big 12 may occasionally get a team in the playoffs, but doubtful for the Pac 12 or ACC.

Rumor: Possible expansion announcement this week.

If FSU and Clemson leave, I wonder what will be the play of the remaining teams in the ACC. Will the other ACC teams try to grab some G5 schools to fill out their league or will they try to merge with another conference like the Pac 12? Will teams with something to offer (like UNC, Miami, and...

Rumor: Possible expansion announcement this week.

Assuming the Big 10 goes back to divisions at some point...the more teams the Big 10 adds out west, the less likely we will get stuck with a group of western teams in a division. On the Eastern side, I'm a little surprised the Big 10 isn't making more of a push for Miami instead of FSU. Miami...
