Back to another long off season

Back to another long off season
The wait is ALMOST over, innmc!!! YAY!
  • This week we'll hear Coach at the Big Ten Media Days in Indy.
  • Then next Sunday Fall Camp begins. Whooohooo!!!
  • And then, as a big time Husker NIL donor ($50 for 2 tickets), my son and I will get an early peek at the boys at the Husker 1890 Preview, Saturday night, August 3rd.

The Heinrich Haarberg fanboy who wrote that article is nuts.

Listen, I like HH. He stepped in and saved the season from falling apart when Jeff Sims blew up. But let's not kid ourselves. He was not ready for Big Ten football last season. Yeah, he had some great runs early on against sub-par competition. But B1G defenses smothered him and beat him up. With his lost fumbles and interceptions to TDs ratio, the writer was being incredibly generous when he called H's time as a regular starter "mixed."

The author talked about how Eric Crouch told Coach Rhule he couldn't sleep the night before the game his entire freshman season. So, in other words, the writer cautions we should be very careful about starting a true freshman! Pardon me if I believe Dylan Raiola is a tad bit more mature for his age than Crouch was. As I recall, Eric left school and went back home when he wasn't named the starter at the beginning of the season.

I'm not anti-HH. I'm happy we have one guy in our QB room with Husker game experience. But Haarberg is not our starter this season.

I've seen articles that state HH has greatly improved his throwing motion and accuracy. If this is true with his game experience he may push for a start. However, let's be realistic. There is a reason that DR was a 5-star. He has exceptional talent and field awareness. I still see HH as a TE. He could excel there.

I want HH to be confident and prepared, he WILL get some snaps. Hopefully, not too many or just in mop-up duty.
Is this writer competing with Oliver what's-his-name as the inanest journalist to write about the Huskers?

Remember what happened to AM against Colorado his freshman season? Well, the way the Buffs play they could have the same thing in mind. If they fall behind, they may resort to playing dirty and twist DR leg outta shape.

One thing about football. What goes around comes around. I don't think Dion is going to risk his son with dirty play against another team's QB..

I hope that HH doesn’t have to take a single snap this season, unless they put in a wildcat package near the goal line. It would be great if the NAIA transfer was able to take the QB2 spot this year, and Kaelin next year.
