Pre-Black Friday Thoughts

After you busted on MC15 for no reason, you decided that was going nowhere, so changed the subject and started in AGAIN on Ruhle

Does your agenda have no bounds?

I am admittedly laughing that you think a receiver quitting or playing lazy is a trick. A trick for what?
You mean to get the DB to think he's a turd and not cover him and then some time he'll seriously run a route. I've watched a lot of college ball and never seen that one.

If we die, we die.

OK, explain to me just what that means and what kind of motivation anyone should get out of it?
Keep in mind it was said before we played a non P5 team at home.

I will tell you how I interpret it. May not be right. Comment is out of context. I think it means:

play loose. Give it your best shot. If we fail at least we all know we gave it our best. Now go out and have fun.

Okay, Mrjfb. here's goes...

Rhule has said to the media (and to fans and his players) that one of the major challenges his team faces is psychological. The program has ended the season with five-straight losing seasons. Yet, amazingly, it has maintained its loyal fanbase---which is a truly unique situation.

Usually when a team sucks, the fans disappear and stay away until there's some tangible evidence that the program is turning back around. A few years ago, I recall a frustrated Kentucky player grousing about Wildcat fans not coming out to support the team. He said they had a great record and were much better than a sadsack program like Nebraska's. But pointed out that Nebraska plays in front of a capacity crowd.

Most rebuild programs have the luxury of 'getting their act together' in relative obscurity. But in our case, Nebraska's players and new coaches have the challenge of turning around the program while under a microscope. No question that our loyal fanbase helps recruiting---but, it must be noted, they have high expectations. That can be really, really tough on young players.

"If we die, we die!" is intented to block out the fear of screwing up in front of 90,000 fans and just go out and PLAY HARD.
Keep in mind it was said before we played a non P5 team at home.
You are correct. Coach Rhule said it in the locker room before an early season home game against a non-P5 opponent.

But you might want to keep in mind that we LOST an early season home game against a non-P5 opponent last year.
