I don't think it's bad luck per se. I think that coaching issues are causing our problems right now That may be giving the players a "case of the ass" dunno on that oneI have a theory...
It is something I keep coming back to because it is the only thing that explains everything: There is a point shaving or gambling ring at Nebraska. A point shaving ring where people are not only betting on Nebraska to lose, but have some of the players as accomplices. I won't name any names because I have zero proof, but purposefull sabotage for financial gain is the only thing that makes sense. I have no proof, but it is the only thing which explains all of our close losses because no one has this much bad luck.

I sure hope this is a humor attempt that I'm just not getting.
Think about it logically. What is more probable? That Nebrasks is absolutely the most unlucky team this season, or there are players sabotaging the team from within?
This is something I have been thinking about quite a bit. All the close losses, all the ups and downs in terms of performance, all the creative ways we have lost close games.
I don't want to believe there is a point shaving ring at Nebraska either, but it is the only thing that makes sense.
And, for the record, back when Pelini was the head coach, I made a post talking about how Nebraska lacked want and wasn't playing hard. Solly (RIP) responded, as did numerous others stating there was no way these players would half-a** it. Well, turns out they were and eventually everyone came around to realizing the team was half-a**ing it under Pelini.
Fast forward to now: The truly bizarre ways we have lost are too predictable. We, as fans, all know at some point a gaffe that causes us to lose is coming. And sure enough, it happens.
Riddle me this: How do we play Oklahoma, Michigan, Michigan State so well, only to lose, and then stink it up against a clearly inferior Minnesota team?
Again, I have zero proof so I won't name names, but something is rotten in Lincoln and the sabotage appears to purposeful and from someone (or some people) on the inside.
Seems like a BS conspiracy theory to me. So according to your theory who is in on it? Players? Coaches? Who?
Adrian Martinez would almost have to be, right? I think he's a frequently crappy and wildly inconsistent quarterback but he strikes me as a stand-up guy. So I don't buy it.
I'm as frustrated as anyone by our struggles, breakdowns, and losses. But without actual evidence, accusing players or even coaches of fixing or throwing games is a nasty and undeserved cheap shot.
I've certainly mulled that possibility over a few times. It's entirely possible that there's some validity to this theory. One final post about this point shaving and I am done...
As I watched the game, there were multiple times where Nebraska moved the ball effortlessly. Then, inexplicably, we'd stall for no reason because of a self-inflicted penalty, mistake, or missed play.
Now I hear you saying that is merely a part of the game. I agree, on occasion it is. But as I watched the Neb-Minn game, it became very apparent we were purposefully playing bad. Because, when we wanted to score, we did so effortlessly. I dunno, something in Lincoln ain't right. No team has THIS MUCH "bad luck."
Okay...I am done. Sorry if my posts about this offends anyone, but I needed to say this out loud because I can't stop thinking about it.
Then explain the unbridled idiocy we see each week.
I realize this is an uncomfortable conversation, but point shaving can and does happen; and to think that just because we're Nebraska it can't happen here is naive.
I don't, and won't, say who I think is involved because, well...no proof. All I have is flimsy circumstantial evidence based on the mind-numbingly poor play, mistakes, and general train wreck I see every week.
It's a theory. It makes more sense that most of the other theories that have been bandied around. I want to hope not but NOTHING surprises me anymore. The Huskers are a mediocre and undisciplined team that makes too many mistakes, crumbles under pressure, and lacks the physical and mental toughness to close out games they should win.
I'm frustrated too. But looking at this mess and accusing unspecified Huskers of selling out their teammates and the program by engaging in illegal conduct with no evidence whatsoever to support those allegations is really really sh*tty.
Pur(you better)don't is spamhandling Iowa on the road.Purdue is now leading Iowa 17-7 in the 3rd quarter.
Was thinking the samePurdue is Killing Iowa! Should of had another TD the last series. Wonder if we will win another game?
We're really 3-5. Shake my damn head!!! So we have a bye, Purdue (home), tOSU (home), at Wisconsin and Iowa (home). I'm hopeful of Purdue, I've accepted OSU as a loss, Wisconsin a probable loss and I see no reason to hang my hat on a victory against Iowa so I'm guessing 4-8 is as good as it is going to get. Ugh!Purdue is Killing Iowa! Should of had another TD the last series. Wonder if we will win another game?
