Interesting note here, kind of ironic in regards to the complaints from the "run the damn ball" crowd:

2021 Nebraska Football Pregame Notes vs. Illinois

"Nebraska has averaged at least 200 rushing yards in each of Scott Frost's first three seasons. The Huskers are the only team from a Power Five Conference to average 200 rushing yards each of the last three seasons (2018, 2019, 2020)."

I'll be the first one to make an IF or BUT(T) statement. I mean run the damn ball with the I-Back...err RB, not the QB. I think when we see the numbers flip and increase for the RB and decrease for the QB, the wins increase.

And 125 of those yards are the QB's running for their lives.

Still a far cry from the 350+ we used to get in our time always in the Top 3 of rushing programs.

Or in other words...when we were dominant.

I agree about finding a RB or 2 to lead the attack I was just surprised that as QB heavy as we have been in the run game that we still are the only P5 team to average 200 yards on the ground each of the past 3 seasons.

Do we need more than one true RB?
Weve now got 3, plus a monster and 2 scat backs.
Our number one gets hurt, its not left to a tiny scat back, and even so, 200 yds

We need:

1. A feature back who can get ~140 ypg.
2. A #2 back who can get ~50 ypg
3. Then a combo of sweeps, reverses, qb runs, etc for ~90 more.

If we can get that, and average ~250 ypg, we should be fine.

But what I really want to see is when we're having a game where the running game is clicking, stick with it. Pound the f*ing rock relentlessly. If there is no need to get fancy, why do it?

Well I'll be in the RTDB crowd because the TTBITD (Throw the ball in the dirt) crowd is a lonely one.

There are two reasons fans are clamoring for this. We don't have anyone on our roster that gives us an alternative and this program dominated college football when it didn't go with the trends. We aren't talking about just running the ball but physically destroying the opponent. Anyone can call a lot of running plays. That's not the aim.

That seems impossible. I don't watch games other than NU, but I would never had said we'd be the only 200+ yard rushing team in P5.

Because Scott can't help himself but try to pass on 1st and goal from the one. It's in his West Coast nature of doing FB.

No excuses
200 yds, no one else is doing it.
Excuses to find blame are still excuses

What is our record over those 200 yard seasons? A designed running game with RB and FB will win a heck of a lot more games than a QB desperately scrambling for yards.

Drill down and look at that stat, there is more to it than just a total.I would trade yds for wins anyday.

Another excuse to divert away from reality.
I can agree with you all day long having only one RB, and sometimes they get hurt and miss games or dont play well when hurt increases qb runs, and shows our passing game, lack of wrs an good pass pro from freshmen O linemen needs to improve, that and turnovers and penalties from those young players has cost us a good portion of the nations leading one score difference in games won or lost, its still 200 yds

If we have a 900 yard RB a 400 yard RB and 500 yard QB at the end of this season we will be at least 8-4... Now if we can get a combined 1,300 yards from our TE and WR we'll be 10-2
