I was asked for my vote.....look outside the conference or wait and see about spring.....my vote.....screw 'em play ball....go where you gotta go.....do what you gotta do this is way bigger here than most places that have "other" revenue to count on....it's the huskers and fall or nothing here....and nothing has to huge a financial impact to let this happen.
I'm thinking we ought to contact all the old big 8 schools or hell even big 12 and see what's going on in there house ?

My brother and I had this same discussion this afternoon. I kept saying that I don't know what we signed when we joined the B1G, but I felt like we had to have their permission to play and if they shut down fall sports that means for everyone. Just like this spring when spring play was cancelled. Cut off with about 5 minutes notice. That's what it means to join a conference.
I whole heartedly agree with the "take my ball and go home" comments. Not a good fit and I hate hearing anyone affiliated with NU making statements that come across that way.
Completely un-American. In 1918, with a World War, Spanish Influenza, TB, small pox, polio, and other scourges, they played football. Missouri Valley cancelled, so Nebraska forged ahead then and played their own schedule. Let’s be that Nebraska...that America.

We don't have access to the contract between NU and the B1G but the issue at hand that is a grey area could be the following as both parties will have performance clauses:

I understand the desire to play someone...….anyone...….and I'm right there with those who want this, BUT I'm only on board if we get the BIG's blessings, AND with no monetary reductions. They are the best game in town for us, and I really don't think we should jeopardize our relationship on a one year bizarro deal. The Big 12 crapped on us for years before we had the gumption and opportunity to leave. We won't find another deal like this in our lifetimes.

OSU's AD said he talked to all of their fall sport teams to share his regrets, and tell them to suck it up, "that's life". He expressed his gratitude for the league commish's leadership.

OSU's AD seems to understand that, as well as what it means to have GRIT. This is one of those times when grit is needed. It may not be what we expected, grit being the determination to win. Rather it is the grit that is resilience. Having everything we love about sports collapsing around us and still not folding. Still moving forward. Still getting up off the mat.
"Resilient" is a word the MD AD used when saying they will conform to the Conference decision.
