It will be interesting to see what the other 3 conferences do.

Of all the power 5, those 3 should be most concerned about the virus.

I'm hoping that Frost will go home tonight and lick his wounds. Then tomorrow he'll say what he needs to lift the players up out of this Monkey Feces. I know it's a bitter pill for everyone in the AD to swallow but I'd like to see it handled with dignity and class; not sour grapes and threats to go play elsewhere.

I worry that it'll get to the point where we swallow reality, and stand down, but dignity and class are in the rear-view mirror.

Who knows what convos are going on in the background? Will the SEC and Big 12 sign a suicide pact to play, potential liability be damned?

OSU's AD said he talked to all of their fall sport teams to share his regrets, and tell them to suck it up, "that's life". He expressed his gratitude for the league commish's leadership.

PSU's AD said they were disappointed, but accepted the decision.

Harbaugh went harbaugh, all over the walls and floor.

In that case, the fat lady has sung

I have heard... (and you all know how I hate to post rumor mill stuff )...there is a movement with phone conversations and all with all the former Big 8 members including Nebraska....talking about a possible 8 game season with 2 "other" games to make a 10 game season.
Normally I would never even give talk like this a second thought but considering the Men I have heard this from.....it's ......well...... interesting to say the least.

Oh and for the Record (this won't surprise some posters on here..) I fully back Coach Frost in his actions....he has to do what he feels is best for this group of players.....this team.....these recruits.....at least he showed he has their backs and had the stones enough to go public with his players concerns, over all health and future in mind.
He also showed he has the financial well being of the State, the City of Lincoln and the University of Nebraska's needs at heart. I will never fault a Man for Standing up for what he believes is the right thing to do.

DOC HOLIDAY.

I have not been a huge fan of Frost, but his leadership with this has been exceptional. I'm not talking in terms of play or not play, but advocating for his players and Nebraska.

He's certainly front and center in this whole thing.

I was telling friends today, this would be my dream scenario right now. Get the big 8 band back together for one hell of a fun trip down memory lane! Even if we just play the 7 games against the other old big 8 teams, I'd be happy

I understand the desire to play someone...….anyone...….and I'm right there with those who want this, BUT I'm only on board if we get the BIG's blessings, AND with no monetary reductions. They are the best game in town for us, and I really don't think we should jeopardize our relationship on a one year bizarro deal. The Big 12 crapped on us for years before we had the gumption and opportunity to leave. We won't find another deal like this in our lifetimes.

Amen and amen! We don't have enough collateral to go rogue. We'd need Ohio State and several others to join us, and based on what I've heard on BTN tonight, that's unlikely. They're all falling in line. NU alum and Wisconsin AD Barry Alvarez said it was the "correct decision." Gene Smith at Ohio State said something to the effect that they will abide by the decision.

I sincerely hope the Nebraska leadership doesn't do anything to jeopardize our future in the B1G.
People are upset right now, and NO conference is perfect, but the B1G is by far Nebraska's best option.

There's talk that North Dakota State has been in contact with us for a game this fall.
Yep.

This ain't over and if we follow through, how are the rest of the Big10 teams going to follow suit with recruiting AND with negotiating media rights if we bring in viewers and attention while the rest of them sit at home?

Dear ESPN: if you want guaranteed viewership, we got you.

Dear recruits: sure you could go to Ohio State, but they might not play football anymore but we're going to. That's kind of what you want to do, right?

I know you like tipping at windmills crazy but you do understand that you are playing high stakes poker on a beer diet?

I'm pretty good at reading tea leaves, and my gut tells me this isn't over. Every indication leads me to believe we play this fall and we come out better for it.

Nebraska is out of the Big 10 if they play per Big 10 commish.
Not likely. Maybe if we played and had like 5 players die they'd vote to kick us out. If they do prior to that outcome, which everybody knows won't happen, and we play the rest of the conference is going to come down on the commissioner hard. "They played and were fine, so why couldn't we?" This isn't a Mexican standoff. We hold all of the cards.

No the B1G holds all the cards. Period.

Just in case you missed it Crazy, here's a link to the B1G commish's comments:

Big Ten commissioner shoots down Nebraska’s hopes of playing outside conference this season

Very succinctly: “No,” he said, firmly. “Not and be a member of the Big Ten Conference.”

I'm sure I know who holds all the cards. Our record has been dismal (being nice) since we joined the B1G and I'm betting they could replace DONU in the blink of an eye.

And I'm hoping that this is about the last headline I see about Frost wanting to go Rogue. It's not a good fit, IMO.
