Everyone probably has an opinion at this point but mine is this. I hope the damage stays limited to MO. There has been evidence that the University knew something regarding an investigation of Mo's actions already last August. If there is any evidence that the staff knew about this and failed to investigate or levy any discipline it could get ugly.

I don't know that this meets the intent of the law. The law was written to keep people from sharing compromising photos or videos of ex lovers with others. If I read the article correctly he did not give the video to anyone else nor was he the source of the video.

It will be something to watch this work itself out. Letter of the law people are already wanting to run this kid out of town. Superficially, it's a super d**k move by an ex that hadn't fully moved on after 3 years. If the felony charge sticks, hard to believe the university lets him stay. Misdemeanor and they decide to keep him, you'd believe the university will be as ahead of the game as possible saying that the university will be supplying training, putting him on a super short leash, explaining the reason for letting him stay, etc to come across as sensitive enough.

I agree. If that is the extent of their knowledge they might be in the clear. Now in saying that...…..someone will probably question why they didn't follow up and do their own investigation. Kind of like why Urban didn't investigate more when the police had already been called 12 times and they couldn't find anything to charge Zack Smith with.

I doubt it. He wasn't involved in the incident, just sat on the video for 3 years and sent it back after she reached out to be nice about signing his LOI. The felony is the black/white of CA's distribution of child porn laws. We'll have to wait and see if they take the situation/relations into account with the felony moving forward.

Agreed. It's going to be "and nobody said 'um, Marice, why do CA police want to talk to you?' " It's one thing to say that police don't share info, it's another to say you completely remained in the dark and didn't care that police were interested.
 
Consider the ages at the time, it gets sticky talking about minors,at the time.
The porn distribution in this case needs its own definition.
 
What worries me is no difinitive denial from his attorney. If he did it, he’s done. Frost WILL NOT risk another LP nightmare.
 
I hope someone above SF told him to concentrate on coaching and we'll keep you informed of anything you need to know. Of course...…...I might be really wishing a lot there.

I assume he's talking from a PR standpoint. Agree the transgressions do not compare. If I had to pick an outcome on the limited info we have, mine is that he is still on the team next year. I don't agree with the people who assume he is automatically gone, especially if it goes down to a misdemeanor.

Agree fred. This is where I may have jumped the gun in my assessment of the situation. Red Ed first made me aware that maybe the incident was consensual. Why is Mo the center of this investigation and not the two who allegedly raped this young lady? If the video appears to be consensual (not in the legal sense) then what Mo did was just mean spirited and vindictive.
If that video appears to legitimately be a sexual assault that changes everything. Sending it to her is not revenge...it is depravity. I mean why the hell would he keep a video like that for 2plus years? His own viewing pleasure? There are a lot of layers to this that are unknown. At the very least it was an incredibly stupid thing to do.

In times like this, wouldn't it be nice to still have Harvey Perlman and Shawn Eichorst steering the football program with their genious law backgrounds?....
 
What's the big deal? Not to be the spelling police here, BUT if you are going to insult someone by questioning their intelligence, you should at least spell the insult correctly
