My thoughts

To MR......that's how a man handles adversity.

To ADBM........that's how you handle this type of press conference without painting yourself into a corner.

To the young man who asked the question about how it feels to be unemployed........keep doing sh*t like that, and someday you are going to find out for yourself.

I thought he did also SUHnami. And as hard as he is trying I think Doc may be tipping his hat just a bit too....LOL.
There are very few coaches who would make me stand up and say "yes thats the guy". Scott Frost would not have done that for me 3 years ago, but today I think he is ready to go. Dabo Sweeny would get me excited also. Guess we will see next Sunday.

Agreed. He's our man and when you talk to 95% of Husker fans they are onboard with Frost where when the other 3 coaches were hired you struggled to have 50% of Husker Nation agree they were the correct hire.

Well not to tip anything but let's just say this.....even if by some strange twist of cosmic ju-ju juice Scott decides to do something other than what he has wanted since he got into Coaching.......the #2 and #3 guys that I'm Perdy dang certain are on the infamous list of 6......will blow your mind and show everybody.....the Head Coaching Job at Nebraska truly is one of the most highly sought after in the ENTIRE COUNTRY.....
I know when I was told the names I was like.......Wha.?...how...?...no...!...really..?....WOW !

Doc.

Yeah I have read elsewhere that Moos had 2-3 names that aren't Frost as backup candidates that would be humongous upgrades to what we've seen lately (but of course this being the internets, no names were specified, but now hearing Doc say it gives it a lot more credence), so I remain wildly optimistic ;flag

Dabo Sweeny? You serious that he could be in play? No way. What are you smoking/taking?

Come on Doc, use some nifty Fake Bo Pelini code word talk like "Schmalabama".

No body said a drop about dabo dingy......except that name would make him say wow.....and for the record to my knowledge Dabo is NOT on the list. You couldn't blast him out of Clemson with din-ah-meat-ay.....

But I do wanna put a cap on this before it gets all outa hand.......let's look at it logically.....
Frost has said many places and many times that NEBRASKA was his dream job......does anyone think that anything has happened to change that perspective.... Before you answer that, remember he is a Dr.Tom Osborne Protege......and a family man now himself......
The perception that people with public voices who have personal agendas to promote has tried and tried to convince the general public of......is that This is a Job no one would want.....too hard to recruit top shelf talent.....not enough instate kids to fill in a so so recruiting class......since we're the only show in the state your living in a fish bowl 24/7/365.....yadda......yadda......yadda.....

But still The biggest name coaches in the country line up for a chance at the job when it's available ..........
See there is a whole deal that's legally involved with releasing the names of those who were lined up.....plus you do that very often.....and all the coaches who didn't get considered get a burr under their saddle and rightly so.....
You all just have got to believe me when I tell you....the guys who are saying this is not a sought after job......have their own very particular reasons for what they say.....look no farther than Tom goosebill or ducksbutt or what ever his name is that does the recruit rankings for ESPN.....if you can't see the reasons he spouts the crapola he does.......then half of you are a lot more innocent than I think you are......see what I mean...and he is just one of a group that for several reasons try their dangdest to make Nebraska look bad...
Shluginbill wants all them 4 & 5 star players to stay in the SEC or Texas.....where his paychecks come from revenue made off of.....with out him doing his verbal assault on us he wouldn't have a freaking job......just keep that in mind.....not very subtle I know but it is truth.....

So don't ever for a second think that NEBRASKA is anything less than top shelf material......if it was trust me.....the likes of the names, of the guys, who want to be the one who is in the driver's seat when we climb back up that mountain says otherwise and if you have never believed a word I have said please believe this......

I believe you DOC. I've said for years this is still a destination that coaches want to be. TO set that legacy with his 25 years of success here. Thanks for your insight.

Doc.
I guess my hesitance about DONU is that I think it is a top shelf job for the right fit. Moos mentioned fit first, I believe, as the characteristic for the new coach.

I don't think every alpha male can be successful at Nebraska, because I think it takes someone who is willing to embrace the modus operandi that works here.

I strongly believe the blueprint the Bobfather and TO established is what works here. Maybe I'm stupid. Maybe I'm stubborn, but I believe this is a blue collar job and a blue collar program. You need to maximize the things that work in this culture and minimize the things that don't.

Good coaching is good coaching, but the good coach also is flexible enough to adapt. Even TO changed his offensive philosophy to match the talent available in a 500 mile radius of Lincoln.

Ultimately, I'll support whomever is hired and wish them much success. I'll be giddier than Doc on a fishing trip if the option and Blackshirts return to Lincoln!

I am all on board with Scott Frost being the next head coach at Nebraska. I remain cautiously optimistic for one reason if he is the choice.

Success at the mid major level does not always translate to success with the bluebloods of college football. Several coaches can inspire their team while in the role of spoiler. Their mid major team beats a Top 10 team now and then and fans become infatuated with "What will he do with the resources we have here at "Fill in the Name" school. It's one thing to "coach em up" a few times a year and another to get everyone's best shot week in and week out. It's what is so damn impressive about Osborne in the old days and now Saban at Alabama.

I hope Frost has more Osborne and Saban in his makeup and less Brady Hoke and Charlie Strong. If SF returns to Lincoln he will not be coaching David any longer...he will be coaching Goliath.

I totally understand, however this mid major is different....he has done what no other coach has, taken a winless team and made them into an unbeaten team during the regular season in 2 years. No other coach or team has ever done that. Tells me he's going to be a success wherever he ends up at. not just at a mid-major.

Who are, "The Six" that Moos referenced in the press conference? I'm guessing about 2, we know Frost is on the list.

1. Scott Frost
2. Justin Fuente
3. Matt Campbell

Doc...you have given me hope that even if we don’t get my personal first choice (Frost), that we will be in good hands.

If you put much stock into the way Bill Moos said what he did about the type of football he would love to see back here and you can read between the lines so to speak, then the picture of what exactly we have to look forward to and then add to that those Coaches out there with the ability to do those type things....ie.....the speed option, dual threat Quarter back, a REAL VERSION of the BLACKSHIRTS and truly special special teams.....(just like I was hinting that we so desperately have to have here to get back to what were good at) you can start eliminating names of coaches fairly quickly and those that are left.....plus the ones that contacted the A.D.'s office through their agents, who's names would make some say oh my God......really ......no way....HIS AGENT CALLED ?????....and make others just say WOW!.....THIS IS REALLY ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER JOBS IN THE POWER 5 !

Look bottom line here is.... University President Bounds, Chancellor Green and The Moos really do understand and totally get these couple of very simple points....point #1. NEBRASKA is known for several things, good moral fiber. We care about others. We care about how people are treated. Hard Work brings honest well deserved rewards.....and in the effort one gives .....a job well done is it's own reward. We care about our History and how we are perceived by others, We will go out of our way to make someone feel at home and welcome. Here a good firm handshake and the look in a man's eye is as good as any legal Document. Here we prize honesty and truth above all. We treat our Women and Children and the Old Folks as treasures.....not belongings.....We say Sir and we say Ma'am and if you ain't into that we don't give a da_n !.....But most of all we, Man, Woman, and child care about NEBRASKA FOOTBALL.....It's the one constant that makes us all, Banker, Farmer, Teacher, Ditch Digger.....EQUAL.

Point #2) We believe in RUNNING THE FOOTBALL, Quarterback's that can Run the Ball as Well as they can Throw it !, I-Backs and Fullbacks that are regularly in consideration for being the best in the country, Rushing Titles mean more to some than trophy's....A pair of Outstanding Blocking and catching Tight Ends.....an Offensive line that has one or more in the running for the Outland and Rimmington trophies every year or so, but the line it self is called The PIPELINE for a reason.....they are truly offensive Offensive linemen....tough as nails and no back up in them.....Wing backs and Wide Receivers who not only catch anything thrown near them but are some of the best perimeter blockers in the country......then you add the return of a BLACKSHIRT DEFENSE THAT WILL SMOTHER OPPONENTS.....AND you have a team that can beat anybody on any day anywhere in the country.....when was the last time you saw ANYBODY STOP THAT KIND OF TEAM ON A REGULAR BASIS.......
This is what Nebraska was....should have stayed (had it not been for certain people who thought they knew best.....that's a joke in itself.....) And needs to be again to be successful going forward.......that's what the Fan base wants.....that's what the Ex players want and that's what "if it ain't broke don't fix it" Bill Moos wants back in Memorial Stadium.....and by God's good graces we will have it ......
Good things come to those who by God earn them......and we have paid our dues.

Doc.

So Doc after the announcement is made, will you reveal who the names were of the other coaches that were in the running.? It would be nice to know who all was willing to take the job.
