As I watched the game last night I was pleased with how our WR's looked. They may be the best group of players on the team right now. They looked pretty good in their routes for the most part and were sure handed. I was surprised by Hunter for some reason. He was pretty darn reliable. Also Dane Key being able to make the first guy miss was impressive to me.

TE's. Well Haarberg looked pretty natural out there. I didn't really see anything that says he doesn't belong on the field as TE. Would have loved to see him pull in that TD pass attempt. The big surprise to me was Luke Lindenmeyer. He looked like he picked up some speed, balance, and toughness in the off-season.

Overall, I think the process is working. The team displayed toughness and a focus on doing their job one play at a time. No matter the result of the previous play.

I was more impressed with Lindenmeyer than I was with Haarberg. The receivers played pretty well.

Not sure the status on Bonner going forward.

Tbh, other than the play where I thought HH would do a qb sneak, I don’t remember seeing him on the field at all. I’ll take that as a sign that he didn’t have any egregious blocking mistakes.

Lindenmeyer was impressive, I am sure HH will make some plays for us over the season. From what I had heard Carter Nelson is still not 100%, I think the staff was planning on sitting him this year and then the Mac Markway injury happened which greatly affected our depth.

I have stated several times that I think Luke Lindenmeyer is the best TE in that room and will absolutely play on Sundays.

I hope Carter gets well and plays regularly real soon. I'm expecting great things from him. As I said in another post, this was a strange game. The offense graded well overall, especially DR and ET, and the receivers. The OL play was overall good with a few minor lapses. What makes the game strange for me is that with all that we only scored two TDs.

I woke up this morning with a football question: Why is HH a TE? He can't block (#1 role for TEs). Luke, whose speed pales in comparison to HH, gets 5 catches on five passes thrown to him and HH none and none. I'm not bagging on HH. He's just out of position. Shouldn't we be a prototypical wingback? Just asking before my morning coffee.

Interesting you should bring this up, SCV. I was thinking over the weekend that HH was well-suited to take over Bonner's 'swiss army knife' role in the backfield than anybody else on the team.

HH has Speed with a capitol S. You can always use more speed, especially if it goes with toughness. I suspect he may be saved for future use. "In case of emergency, use HH" before the conference games. Kinda Double-super-secret Special Weapon.

Or, he's being underutilized.:50:

The talking heads said he had the highest grade of any husker , at least on offense
