Actually they were. The team was demoralized when the scoop and score fumble occured. They never were the same after that. They were not remotely close to beating Illinois.

The difference between Frost and Osborne is nite and day. I never believed and do not today believe anyone wanted Tom to leave.Well I think Mo said it best. Frost is our coach. He’s not going anywhere, anytime soon anyway, so he’s got my support. Lots of folks wanted TO gone early on and we know how that turned out. I tend to be as pessimistic as the next person but maybe a bit of optimism and positive outlook is a good thing.

No I don't believe that either. People just walked around saying dumb stuff, like "Tom's a good coach but he'll never beat OU." or "Tom's a good coach but he'll never win the big one or the Natty."The difference between Frost and Osborne is nite and day. I never believed and do not today believe anyone wanted Tom to leave.
I think most of us come from an age of accountability and harsh consequences. Face masks were invented so coaches could drag you around. If I had two personal fouls in one quarter of football, I would have been benched. And then my Dad would have ripped my a$$ when I got home.
And if I was lucky I would have earned my spot back at some point.
But under Frost none of it matters. There is nothing you can do under Scott Frost to suffer the consequences of your idiocy.
Why do I hate him so much? Because his lack of accountability with players and coaches goes against my very existence.
My parents always told me that I was free to do whatever my little heart desired. But, if I broke the law and got arrested, they would NOT bail me out of jail. I was on my own. I never forgot those words. I had friends who used to tell me I was chicken because I wouldn't do this or that or the other. One by one, I filed their mug shots when I worked in Records for Lincoln Police Department. I'm 65 and have never had a mug shot taken. I'm cautiously optimistic that I never will. I'm getting a little long in the tooth for that kind of crap.I think most of us come from an age of accountability and harsh consequences. Face masks were invented so coaches could drag you around. ok. Me, too, as far as upbringing (a little diff, but same-same).
don't hate him, tho'. he came in a swingin' di*k. he's being humbled. hard, I think.
I like that analogy. I think his swingin' di*k has been cut off inch by inch by inch. It's just about a nub by now,ok. Me, too, as far as upbringing (a little diff, but same-same).

I know he came close to taking the Colorado job. We lived in KS for most of Osborne's years so we missed a lot of the inside stuff but the worst I heard was the "good coach but will never beat -- insert whatever is appropriate"Then you simply weren't there or don't remember. And he almost took the Colorado job because of it.
Persistent and Repeated Negativity
Can fans be upset about the state of our teams, coaches, or programs? Sure. We all would rather win. There’s not a forum member, moderator, or administrator who is happy with losing. But, you are not welcome to remind everybody in every post how negative you feel. Express your frustrations once and leave it at that.
Seems others get away with breaking rules with no accountability on this board as well

I wasn't doubting you, just not living in Nebraska, you miss out on some of the bs.Well here's a quote...
Osborne said he “thought there was enough unhappiness here that maybe I ought to look for a job.” That despite at least nine wins and a bowl game in each of his six seasons.
