Will there be Spring practice, Covid-19 vaccine

I...[shakes head]...

1. Vaccinations, any vaccination, essentially works by exposing you to weakened version of whatever the virus is.

2. Your body's immune system leans how fight off this invader and it remembers it.

3. Then, when you body comes into contact with the actual virus, your immune system says, "I've seen this before" and proceeds to shut it down without you ever knowing you had it.

The approach researchers and developers at Pfizer and others used data from research where they noticed the protein spike from the virus that causes the sickness. The Covid19 vaccine operates on the exact same principle, so if you come into contact with the actual virus, your immune system says: "I've seen this a-hole before" and then knows exactly what to do with it.

You guys worrying about the vaccine, why don't you worry about something that'll have statistically a higher chance of happening, like being eaten by a shark, living in a tornado.

I'm being slightly flip with that, but it needs to be said: Every vaccine ever developed, every surgical procedure you could undergo, all of them carry some inherent risk. But the risk to be vaccinated is well worth playing the odds of an allergic reaction or worse.

Because, I can't believe I have to say this: scientists, researchers, doctors, etc, 99% of them are committed to life saving research and are not going to lie to you purposefully.

Get Vaccinated!!!!
I'm not anti-vax at all, but I do have some concerns about this one because its entirely new technology. The protein they are introducing into the body is created synthetically, so right out of the gate we know it isn't the real thing. That should be a concern, and along with any other vaccine it takes time to see how the body will ultimately react to it. We are 10 months in on this one so there isn't a long term sample to go off of. Its probably fine, but its still OK to come into it with a little bit of caution.

Lemmings go into panic mode before all going in one direction before the cliff.

Its hard to remain in the center and be/remain objective when panic hits.

This virus has elicited a serious level of panic porn. Its hard to remain objective when you are constantly being told to be very afraid. Its ok to say the virus can kill you and at the same time say that it most likely won't.

So people that prefer to eat non GMO foods are crackpots too?
Kennedy said that this vaccine will permanently alter your DNA. Is that not cause for pause and discussion? Is that statement true? What about the other things he said? None of it is true at all?
We were told that Agent Orange had no effect on health for years so excuse me for not being willing to swallow whatever the Gov puts out there.
I too have been given all kinds of shots in boot camp you get in line and herded through a series of shots with a Corpsman on either side one after another. In 06 I went to Iraq as a civilian contractor and again given all kinds of shots. I really don't even know what all it was for. Some were for chemical attack so I can only imagine what was.in that juice
This mRNA stuff is new though.

Not at all.
But GMO foods are a splicing of the gene, not just introducing something at that level.
This, the vaccine cannot clone itself, unlike GMO applications, and is how the restructuring happens.

If you have antibodies, why would you NOT want to be re-exposed to the virus? You won't get sick, and your body will keep being on high alert to fight this thing off when it knocks on the door.

On the surface your logic looks sound. However..............

  1. That sounds like a rationalization why you don't have to wear a mask in public. We still have to many people running around refusing to wear masks because its a violation of their freedom of expression.
  2. Also what happens if you happen to be exposed to a new variant of the virus. The antibodies you carry may not protect you from a new strain?

thats not true or comparable in my eyes at all, not even close.
One is, there may be problems, the other is, it has some effects for sure, no doubt, but dont get caught upinto thinking a mask will for sure without a doubt save you every time.

Questioning how effective mask wearing isnt giving up the idea it has no value, same for the effects on every person on the planet and negative effects from the vaccine.

You want altruisms, go join one of the far edge groups, there plenty of room in between, right?

Zombies. Lots and lots of zombies.

Or, more likely it will lead to a rise in auto-immune disorders because by not introducing the full virus and only a protein, your body might not know exactly what its fighting against.

I must admit you do give me pause for concern when you suggest that stimulation of the immune system with the vaccine may stimulate unwanted auto immune disorders. You would think this would also be a side affect for people who have been infected with Covid-19.

At this point have we seen any auto-immune diseases/long term issues in people who have been infected with Covid?

It is.
The swelling that occurs is a direct reaction from covid, same from the vaccine.

You did not read what I posted and your response changes distorts what I said.

State your response in sentences rather than cute remarks.
Your response borders on a personal attack.

My question was directed to Crazy, not you. Please stop trying to respond to every post, it inhibits discussion between others than you.

in the form of a question,it shouldnt be taken any other way.
But what have you, I just share what I know, and questioning things is a healthy approach.

OK, it wasnt an attack, more of an agreement,cn you see that?
I am in agreement, and because I said no, I was referencing your words, about those who think not wearing masks can be construed as a good thing, again, as I see it.

For many reasons. You don't know how strong your antibiodies are, you don't know how long they will last, crap you don't even know for sure that you have the antibiodies unless you go in to your doc and get tested.

When I inquired about convalescent donation, the Am Red Cross told me that because I was asymptomatic, their expectation was that I have little to no antibiodies. My brother, who lives in Iowa, had a very mild case of COVID-19. He donated for convelscent use one time and received a call from their blood donation center. He had very little antibiodies in his plasma so they told him they could not use his plasma.

As for length, no one knows how long you keep the antibiodies in your system. I've heard on the low side 60 days and expected for a maximum of 6 months. It's not like you can run into your doc and get tested once a week to make sure that you still have antibiodies.

Plus, with the new strains coming into the US, we have no idea if the antibiodies that those who still have them in their system will protect them against the new strains.

So pardon me for NOT wanting to be re-exposed to COVID-19. Having been asymptomatic, I consider myself one of the lucky ones. I might not be so fortunate the next go around.

Lastly how do you even know that your body will "keep on being on high alert". Sounds like fuzzy math to me. If you have a source for that statement, please provide it as I'd like to read the original article. Just defies any logic in my opinion but I'm open to learning that I'm wrong.

I wouldn't necessarily say its a rationalization for other issues people have with wearing masks. I'm just saying that if you've already been infected or have been vaccinated, wearing a mask probably isn't a net benefit. If your antibodies have a timeclock, and those antibodies are what keeps the virus from giving you symptoms, then its probably wise to keep restarting that clock.

With the mutations, we know with most viruses that they become less virulent when it happens. We can see that happening in real time with this virus. Just look at the number of cases vs the number of deaths in the original strain that hit NY compared to the number of cases vs deaths in the strain that went across the south later in the year. Its basically the same virus so your prior immunity is still effective.

Long term? Its hard to say because there aren't many people that have had this long ago enough to say. I guess I'd probably lean little bit on the fact that we are exposed to other coronaviruses naturally every day and they don't seem to cause auto-immune disorders.

With vaccines there always a concern for that to happen because there does seem to be at least a little bit of correlation, but nobody knows if it's from the actual virus or from the adjuvant used.

Well flip that logic around. When you get the vaccine, you'll be asymptomatic. Does that mean your body won't have very many antibodies moving forward?

Cannot say -- only know that my brother was told specifically that he was not to donate for convalescent plasma again because and this is a direct quote: "You have very little antibiodies in your blood and we want you to keep everything that you have to protect you from another COVID-19 occurrence." I believe I posted a link sometime ago that the severity of your occurence has a direct correlation to how much antibiodies you have in your system. So with being asymptomatic, do I have any antibiodies in my system-- I don't know -- I would have to be tested to know. I believe that the link said that asymptomatic people have little or no antibiodies in their systems but that was several months ago so I'm not going to fall on my sword over it

I also know that Fauci said that even after getting your COVIDl-19 booster you still need to wear your mask. Partially because it is possible for those with the COVID-19 vaccines to infect those who have not yet had the vaccine. I don't understand the why and wherefore of that statement but that was what I read after Fauci's briefing yesterday.
