Who would you prefer for OC?

IIRC, SF had to pull a reluctant Lubick out of retirement to be here. ML may have realized he just would rather be at home, or at least closer to home.
Its the running joke in my family. I have never seen a QB throw more pass at his WR feet then MJ threw.Does anybody see the irony in Mickey J being the pass game coordinator. We all know where Jamaal Lord ranked in the history of passing QBs at Nebraska...MJ was one slot above him
Great hire though. I was always a fan of his. He was a little guy to be taking the pounding he took in the option but he was electric.
On the plus side he is the WR coach and probably feels every ball is catchable.
I looked at Joe Brady’s resume, and I don’t understand the enthusiasm of some for him to Be OC.
I'm seriously afraid if this Guy ...Graham Harrell from USC gets hired the fan base will absolutely go out of their minds with anger. Why do coaches keep thinking they can re make us into something we are not ? The Air Raid Offense failed to produce any champions anyplace it's been.....have you EVER SEEN A AIR RAID TEAM IN THE PLAYOFFS EVEN.....NO !

We need to stay true to who we are and what sets us apart from everyone else. I'm telling you it really matters. Fans will run screaming for the exits if we use our running backs to what get a 2 yard first down then they sit ? This guy at USC is the reason Stepp left USC....because all he wanted to do was throw the ball every down. I'm telling you if Frost goes this route he just signed his own pink slip and set Nebraska back another 4-6 years minimum of trolling the bottom of the conference.
Man if he hires anybody that's gonna run that type offense I can count right now 11 former Husker players I hear from that are going to be so pissed off.....it's not funny one bit.
I'm not pulling any punches or making a mountain out of nothing. I'm very serious.
You watch how long Frost keeps his job if he even tries to go the "AIR RAID" route....When the news broke yesterday that he was seriously talking to this Guy from USC my phone absolutely blew up and finally we had to shut both our phones off so we could have peace and quiet.
We heard from some VERY WEALTHY SUPPORTERS OF NEBRASKA and countless others and it got old quick telling everyone to calm down till we know for sure who signs his name on the contract.
But alas it did no good so we just said screw this and shut off our phones. I halfway expected to get some up this morning by Kate Yelling NO ! WHAT AN IDIOT at her phone downstairs in the kitchen thinking I was in a never ending nightmare.
We're hoping for the best but expect the worst see then if anything positive happens we will be happy.

For sure, Doc. Big boy football means running the ball and grinding it out when needed. Look at the Patriots last night. We've seen what the inability to run the ball means between Pelini, Smiley, and now Frost. Even Frosts's success at UCF and Oregon meant running the ball, even if it was from unreliable home runs. Now teams have adjusted to that and Frost doesn't have those types of players anyway.
Have to agree a big portion of the fan base will go ape sh*t if this is the hire for OC.
I really hope the same wealthy donors have called Alberts. This would just about do it for me if it happens. No longer anxious about who the OC will be, but worried about who the OC will be. Thanks Doc for the information you are able to give.
Feel the same way Doc. My head was imploding yesterday. This am Sean C finally gave his opinion that he thinks the #1 candidate is Whipple from Pitt. I am much happier now. Sean is pretty conservative with sharing this type of info so he must feel confident he is our #1.
That said - they are negotiating the contract so as we all know anything can happen and so we aren't out of the woods yet. Backups are Anae (sp?) from VA and Harrell. Don't know what order.

A breath of fresh air. I have had concerns over this guy ever since his name came up. It will complete the death of Husker football if Frost hires him. If anyone has any doubts about a running game just check out Wisky, Minne, Iowa, and Michigan. They are all in bowl games or playoffs, where s the air raid? Mike Leach was failing at Washington St and USC was failing at it too running the air raid under Harrell. It cannot win conferences as proven by the lack of championship s. I would advice Frost not to go there. He may not even have any desire (but it gets us riled up) to do that, there are plenty of other spread OC s that are available. Time will tell but keep on firing those bullets and maybe Frost will listen, certainly Trev will listen.

My enthusiasm for Frost is further waning. Going from noncongruent desicisions to no decision was not the goal here. He could have made a polarized decision and ran with it. The lack of announcements is a slow death. And we thought he was the fix for Mike Reilly.
Whipple would be a good hire IMHO......so hoping that is the direction he goes.
