What were the best games against Oklahoma?

That was a great game with the goal posts coming down. An ATO alum, Joyce Aryes (sp), had a PR company who cut up the goal post into paperweights and had no problem getting rid of them.

Navy's last 'Loud' was the Black 41 Flash Reserve play that sealed the win when Eric Crouch scored.

Arguably it was the loudest moment in the history of Memorial Stadium.
Doc I would argue 1978 when Sims fumbled for the last time and the crowd knew the monkey was coming off TO's back. That place was deafening.

I agree with you, CH. I said what I said because I wasn't at the 2001 game and some fans who were at both told me the Crouch run was louder. But I'll happily stick with you on this one.

Also...........A possible national championship wasn't on the line but our Hail Mary against Northwestern was an absolute Sonic Boom if ever I've heard one.

The '78 game was much louder through out the whole game. Certain plays may produce a loud moment or two but loud crowds through the whole game is much more impressive.

I'm with you, Mo. That one was louder than hell from start to finish. The crowd brought their 'A' game that day. But to tell you the truth, the Sooners helped psych up the student section even more that day by their cocky, pre-game antics.

The most beautiful sight in the world was watching them, heads down, struggle to make it back to the old locker room in the East Stadium through the mass of student bodies on the field.

Whatever year it was at Norman where we gave them their worst beating ever......because I was there.

I want to say between 1989-92

I loved that game also, as I was there as well. Might have been my 1st Lincoln game vs. OU

2001...loud..Loud..Loud

If that was the Eric Crouch Heisman sealing game, where he caught the pass on the sideline, I was there too.

Damn, looking back, I was at some crucial games in hindsight, as were some of you I imagine.

Not to burst any bubbles here, but Henerys field goal against Colorado was the loudest moment.

Start your own Colorado thread and keep out of this discussion about Oklahoma. Damn, read the thread title, that is "MESSAGE BOARD 101" stuff !!! :bash:

Shhhhh.......Not to piss Mo off, but I was at that Henery kick game too

So was I and most every other game since 1963 (dad's season tix were great). I been to a few games, a few seasons every game, home, away and bowl.

Lazy Hole needs to stay on topic and not try to steal threads, that is one reason he seems to get banned from many sites !!!! :tongue0015:

all wins over the Sooners are great some more than others. I liked 2009 defensive battle

I haven't been to nearly as many home games as most of you, but in the "false start" Akron game, there was a moment Scott Frost first appeared on the big screen during the Tunnel Walk. He looked into the camera, and said "there is no place like Nebraska." The resulting explosion of cheers probably started all the thunderstorms that night.

Favorite OU games:
1. 1971 I had guaranteed a win on the playground at school. Silently was worried about Monday at recess if they lost. Tagge, Rodgers, and Glover came through.

2. 1978 Watched it in a packed tv room in the student center at Samford University. All the Alabama people were rooting for us, because OU was ranked ahead of them at the time and they had beaten us at the beginning of the season. Quite a scene. Beautiful day.

3. 1959 I was born a few weeks later, so I've only read about it. But it was a historic moment in college football. OU owned the conference, and hadn't lost a game in years.

Stop being such a damn sissy Doc. You said 2001 was arguably the loudest then you sheepishly agree with colhusker without a fight. I wanted to see the two of you thow down!
