What rock/country stars have you seen live in concert?

I gotta go with Lzzy Hale as the best female rock vocalist. Powerful and great range. She can scream those notes!

Good choice too. The one current female singer that always surprises me is Taylor Momsen (aka Cindy Lou from The Grinch) - listen to the song "25" can tell me she's not elite. Incredible vocals.

I was talking with an old friend over the weekend and I asked if he remembered the Golden Earring concert from when we were 15 or 16. It took him a minute but he said "You mean the Santana concert?" It seems I forgot I was at a Santana concert and only remembered the opening act.o_O

The first "real" concert I went to was Eddie Money opening for April Wine. Eddie was quite drunk including falling on stage a couple time but he was on it in terms of the music. Probably the best opening act I've seen was that first show. Eddie Money was a heck of a live performer.

Head East was supposed to open for Triumph but had to last minute cancel. I was standing about 3rd row from the stage when some local act tried to open and got stuff throw at them by the crowd (I got hit a couple time by cups or empty containers). Keep it classy Omaha.....lol.

Oh - and Ghost opened for Iron Maiden a few years ago when I saw them. I've seen Ghost live several times so that was a great double punch of hard rock.

I should have kept a list from when I was younger. I must admit tho that most were because I went with others who enjoyed various types of music. I went to jazz, hard rock, country, pop.....you name it. I enjoyed them all, but none of them were 'edge of your seat crazy' for me. In fact, the only one I traveled many miles several times to see for my own enjoyment was Bob Dylan.

I pretty much enjoy most types of music with a few exceptions...... I don't care for polka, endless steel guitar, or rap......and even some of those I can enjoyed for a limited time.

One that I never got to see, and never will now, is Linda Ronstadt.......wished I'd have made that one.

My devours is pretty small in this realm starting off I didn't go to a concert to see him he came to our school grade school the great Gordon Lightfoot 1976. Poison in 2000 and then a few yrs later 38 Special, followed by Oliver Anthony in Iowa of this year. Missed the Beach boys that was always a bucket list

I've likely forgotten some, but here are the ones I remember:
Aerosmith (Pershing)
Lynyrd Skynyrd (Pershing)
REO Speedwagon (Pershing)
Blue Oyster Cult (Pershing)
Alice Cooper (Omaha Civic)
Steve Martin (Pershing)

Michael Martin Murphy (Devaney)
Dan Fogelberg (Devaney)
Destiny's Child (Sandstone)* *Beyonce' (Ooookay, it was for my daughter.)
Cole Swindell (Memorial Stadium) -- scratch that one, we left right after the game. :)

First concert ever: Eric Clapton with Muddy Waters as opening act - Riverfront Coliseum in Cincinnati
Kansas - Riverfront Coliseum in Cincinnati
ZZ Top - Pershing in Lincoln
Van Halen - wherever in would have been held in Omaha
Pat Beneath, at least twice in KC (Lyric)
Ozard Mountain Daredevils - Lyric in KC
Billy Joel - KC (venue has been torn down) at least twice I believe
Lover Boy - KC
Stones - KC
Journey - KC
REO Speedwagon - KC
Styx - KC
3 Dog Night - GI
Elton John - Lincoln (Pershing? not sure where it was at)
Chicago - GI
the Temptations - GI
Foreigner - GI
Summer Jam II - Arrowhead Stadium in KC (38 Special, Triumph, Loverboy, Le Roux and Foreigner)

I'm sure there are other groups but I was known for killing brain cells back in those days so :Iono3: . Had a great time at all of them and wouldn't change a thing about it!

This year has been a heck of a run:

Vertical Horizons in Rochester at a city public park (Free!)
April Wine and Triumph (Reloaded) at the Starlight Theater in KC - Phil X and Rik Emmett are 2 of the best guitar players on the planet.....amazing
Rush at the United Center in Chicago.....holy crikey they knocked it out of the park. What a show! I was able to take my youngest son with me - his first Rush show - he was a little overwhelmed to say the least....lol
Megadeth and Iron Maiden at the Mystic Lake Amphitheater in Shakopee, MN (brand new 19,000 seat outdoor venue about an hour and half from my house).

Also snuck in a NASCAR Cup race at Iowa Speedway and trip to Appleton WI for the annual PGI conference finale fireworks show - a 3+ hour fireworks extravaganza with enough fireballs to keep all pyros happy.

Rush, the one that got away. When I was going to UNL, Rush was scheduled to appear at the Pershing. I was about the 3rd person in line for tickets and had front row seats. Unexpectedly, the show was cancelled, with no explanations. Took my tickets back and got my refund, but sadly never saw Rush. I'm sure they must have been in KC when we lived in Leavenworth but they never got airplay at the "rock" station we listened to. So, if they played KC, we never heard about it. Hub and I are both huge Rush fans so we would both have thoroughly enjoyed the show. We've seen 2 or 3 Rush concerts on TV and those dudes put on one hell of a show! They have a wicked sense of humor as well!

Deftones and Mars Volta in Las Vegas last year.

I'd never heard Mars Volta before but they were good. Apparently they played an entire unreleased album for their set.

Deftones were good. MGM Grand Arena has terrible acoustics however .

What I did learn is I can't stand for an hour and half anymore. It was too loud and I couldn't understand most of it. o_O
Too much dope smoke in the air.

A smaller venue would have been better.

Man, I haven't smelled pot in the air since our last KC concert. None of the GI concerts nor Elton John's Lincoln concert had even a whiff of pot in the air. GI I could understand but SIL and I were both more than a little surprised that reefer madness had not taken over the arena with Elton John,
