This is looking to be One Crazy Season!

I don't hate Bo. He won a lot of games you won't remember, and he lost a lot of games that are hard to forget. That line came from Tom Shatel. I think it's on target.

Bo did some cool things (I've read that Jack Hoffman's TD run was his idea). But as others have said, he decided to torch the place on his way out, and it definitely had an impact on Riley's first season. It's hard to dismiss that, and I'm fairly sure Bo hasn't asked for us to forgive that move.

Perfect description of Bo's tenure.

Ultimately, it had to be approved by the head coach so Bo get's the credit, but it wasn't his idea.

Riley did himself no favors but Bo certainly didn't help matters. The combination of the two gave Frost a hell of a hole to dig out of.

I thought Bo was a decent coach - not great, but decent. Too bad he often let his crazy gene get in the way. I'm sure he felt he got screwed by the admin; maybe not a good excuse for trying to crash the program, but kinda understandable.

Is there any situation where playing the “crazy” card is justifiable?

Most people can point to situations where they feel they “got screwed.” That’s called life. I would argue that those are the times when behaving with dignity and class are most important.

Once upon a time, I was a big Bo fan. Those days are long gone. The guy showed us his true colors time and time again: he’s a jerk.

And only a so-so coach.

Wow! You guys HATE Bo Pelini. Geez, I thought he was far and away, our best hc in the last 20 years. Opinions vary I guess.

It probably WASN'T hate until he started giving Nebraska blackeyes on national TV; and then cementing the "hate" sentiment with his final tirade.

Since he was ours at the time, media pundits were given ammunition to take their opinions in whatever direction they wanted, ie. From "Nebraska fans deserve better, to what was Nebraska thinking hiring this guy." And everything in between.

He turned a great opportunity into the mother of all embarrassments, for himself, and Nebraska fans everywhere...who had to bear the brunt of his "exploits."

I listened to Bo's radio interview when Solich got fired and BC got the job (so right after he found out he didn't get the HC job). He didn't pull any punches - he was pissed off and not afraid to say it publicly. So the fact he reacted badly to getting fired when he was the head coach - not a surprise.
The fact he decided a players only meeting where he could take shots at Nebraska and vent his anger was the best way to handle it.....that was when I started hoping Bo would fail the rest of coaching career - thanks for the poison Bo now go pound sand. I was ready for him to go because it was clear his teams were regressing mostly due to misses in recruiting (he got lucky the schedule was not tougher his last 2 seasons). But once I heard his little player meeting - it cemented the fact he is a jerk.
Getting exposed as DC vs. Leach - I laughed alot. Enjoyed every comment I read about it on here too.

Indeed. I hope he chokes on it this day, and every day after. He's Youngstown garbage and Nebraska should have never let that clown have the keys to the car.

There is a funny new SEC Shorts YouTube video about last Saturday’s LSU/Miss St. game that you should check out. The LSU Guy says, “On the positive side, Pelini’s defense only gave up 9 yards rushing!” :)

BTW, if you haven’t been paying attention to them, those SEC Shorts videos are consistently funny whether you’re a fan of the SEC or not.

Damn, that was funny.

It is Husker related - for the first 2-3 games of Big 10 play it will be impossible to predict how each team will play due to the prep work offseason and screwy practice schedule. Could see some crazy games - like OSU losing at home......maybe......

Honestly, this is the first year since 2011 where we actually have a chance to win against Ohio State. I think ?hope? that the program, at this juncture, is at least in a place where we can stand toe to toe with Ohio State.

The SEC Shorts are all fun and games... until you get to the episode where Nebraska is presented as a dumpster fire.
