**The Official Huskers vs Puffs Game Day Thread**

Unpopular opinion probably, but before I crucify Sims, I’d at least like to see him play at home. Maybe he can gain some confidence back after a couple of cupcakes.

Of course, I’d probably feel differently if I had any faith in HH or CP.
Well, that's the crux of the problem. Obviously Rhule thinks that Sims is the man. His play the first 2 games tells you that if Sims is the best of the three QB's, NU is in for another long, rocky road. Ugh!

My opinion is that there is an issue with Sims (not that he sucks) that isn't being addressed. Staff corrects that ... I'd like to see what that would mean ... I think it would change our fortunes though.

GO BIG RED!

I believe coaches often outthink themselves. It looked like someone decided "They'll expect Sims to run and be ready for that, so to counteract that, we won't have him run." The few times he did run he was effective. If that's his forte, why not let him run?

I suspect that a QB change is going to happen this week. Of the other QB's who appears to be the toughest and most rugged? because with this O'line he's going to have to be.

Rhule said Chubba got banged up in practice a week or so ago, not sure if he is ready to compete we may just have Sims and HH at the moment.

I like Haarberg and think he has the potential to be the best QB. I think he's real young and has no experience. I'd like to see him start next Saturday. He's taller, has a better arm, runs decent. As long as he doesn't drop snaps and makes poor decisions like Simms does what does it hurt at this point?

Sims is an adult 23 years old. Making a ton of money on NIL. He knows what he has to do you would think. He either can or he can't. He might be hurt.

Sometimes turnovers are forced by good defensive athletic plays and sometimes they happen due to careless ball handling or errant throws. I do wonder how many turnovers are occurring due to the other team just having better athletes making great plays as opposed to carelessness and bad reads. I'm not sure who would have that information, but it would tell us a lot.

Not ONE of the 4 turnovers yesterday can be attributed to an athletic play by the Colorado defense. Two fumbled snaps in the shotgun, one fumbled exchange on a running play, and an INT where Sims stared the receiver down the entire route. Against Minnesota all 3 INTs were a product of staring down the primary receiver and throwing into double or triple coverage. Husker opponents only job on defense is to wait for the the Huskers to press the "Self Destruct" button every game. It's an automatic.

Thanks for the summary. So to me that says that we have the wrong QB to be successful this season. And given that there doesn't appear to be another QB that this staff has confidence in, perhaps this year will go the same as the past five. I hope that isn't the case, but based on what you state in your comment, it appears to be so. I would've been nice to land the Riaola kid because he would have a future at NU. But in college football it seems like the rich get richer.

I've heard he may have a high ankle sprain. Those can linger as we all know with Taylor Martinez. I'd like to see Haarberg start on Saturday. We really have nothing to lose. If he protects the ball that's a huge positive.
Zac Lee vs Taylor Martinez the first year was a no brainer but when TM was hurt only one element of our game was affected. Zac and Suh helped to get us to the conference championship the year before. Zac was serviceable QB great at times. He could run. He was tough Why can't we find a guy like him or do we have one?

Honestly I feel we already do. He's just not getting his shot. Maybe he will have his chance this Saturday? We'll find out if Haarberg gets the call. All we need is someone like Zac Lee. HH IMO is much better than Zac Lee.

So I watched a condensed version of the sCUM vs NU game just a bit ago. Jeff Sims needs to be benched immediately. It is 100% his fault we're 0-2. If Matt Rhule doesn't see this and make a change at QB, we'll be lucky to win 3 games this year.

Every Other HC In College Football: My starting QB is fumbling, throwing INTs, I'm going to replace him because we can't have any one position costing us the game.

Nebraska Head Coaches: I'm sticking with my starting QB and I don't give a sh** if we go 0-12 because of it.
