SF has given it.
If the players dont want it, they can leave now, or soon be quarantined.
Past two staffs, one response was, this is your team, without laying down a culture, expectations, rewards to actually do less.
The other, favorites, isolationism, and responsibility was often demanded mano o mano in front of millions, regardless of player.

If some players today, under this staff, decide not to pick up that mantle of team, heart, what its going to take, well, everything the previous staffs tried to do wrongly, will be done right this time.
If a player chooses their own direction, its their choice, not their team, there are no favorites, every one of them has this one choice, and instead of yelling and demanding in front of millions, everyone will still know what the player has decided what to do.
If there are those on the bubble, the trains still rolling, still on track, and until it completely passes them by, they still have time to get on board, get right, get cured of the snake oil misguiding them.

Northwood I am not sure what you are trying to say here. If you are saying that the Huskers are 0-2 because players have not "bought in"?
The Huskers did not play well enough to win yesterday. But they never gave up. How many times in the last 19 years have we seen a husker team down 17 points that fought hard until the end. Yes we made mistakes. Bunch should have thrown the ball away a few times to save yards. He should not have thrown the interceptions but he was trying to make plays. Honas missed a tackle that resulted in a TD but he played great the rest of the way. Now the Huskers know they can count on him. Washington did establish himself as the best running back. Lots of us hoped we would be 3/0 at this time but now we have a serious test of character ahead. Maybe I still have rose colored glasses but I think the Huskers will build on the positives rather than dwell on the negatives.

Frost said it in the post game press conference, not that they haven't bought in, but he said, paraphrasing, fight back or quit. I think he probably has a couple of people in mind when he said it too- but I think it was more of a coach-speak challenge for the team.

I agree with you- not seeing quit in this team at all, just seeing where we are outgunned.

"There's no reverting back to 2017," Frost said. "We just have to make sure that everybody does a better job and everybody practices habits that lead to championships. We have a lot to fix. Coaches have a lot to fix, players have a lot to fix."

"Stanley said it's not on (Frost), it's on us," defensive tackle Carlos Davis said. "It's on us to fix the mistakes and go get that win that we should have got."

Frost told the players, Davis said, he should have prepared NU better.

"Our preparation," Davis said, "that's not on him, it's on us."

KEEP ON SWINGING

The words are nice, I guess, but after last year's abomination I baffles me that the players aren't giving 100% in getting ready to play. Is the answer to chuck 50 guys out the door and have a 50 player recruiting class? Because if that's what it takes to get rid of the rot that curses this program I'm 100% on board.

If you had to nail why I'm so disappointed in yesterday's game I'll tell you - the same boneheaded mistakes by the same guys as last year. It infuriates me now, and has for the past ten plus years. I'm at the point that the next clown that gets a 15 penalty, or gets humiliated by a smaller defensive lineman, or whatever, should be sent packing. No more excuses, no more rope. Remove the cancer.

I feel the same way about the fans. Hang in there for the ride, albeit bumpy early on, or give up.

How did Moos miss you as a coaching candidate? No wonder you're pissed.

I agree with a lot of that. But at the crux of it is likely an issue of depth.

You can't have a top flight guy be right 90% of the time and really blow it once. Or you can have the scrubs that blow it 50% of the time.

Barry's hit was just stupid. But this season he's also been brilliant.
