Speculation on Dylan’s Future

If DR ever takes the helm for the Ducks, it will be interesting to see how he does. I'm guessing it will be a lather, rinse, repeat kind of deal but he may prove us naysayers wrong. Time will tell.
He may very well prove us naysayers wrong. I do think he is a good QB as long as he's behind an elite OL. That was something his Uncle couldn't provide and Dylan and his Dad got upset that we fired Donny. Anyway the Ducks have elite OL play. So I wouldn't be surprised if Dylan did do well. I just have a feeling he's not going to win the starting job unless others ahead of hime get hurt.

I do think that the Ducks have a much better OL than what we had when he was here. The woes of our OTs in pass pro have been painfully documented by pretty much everyone. The fact he was sacked 50+ times in 2 seasons is telling.
Semantics. The OL talent wise may be on par with Oregons but I don't think we are even in their stratosphere. Their coaching is far superior than ours was. I do believe we now have WAY better OL coaching than we've had in years. So our line with basically the same talent we've had IMO will be infinitely better. They won't give up 9 sacks to a mediocre team. Also we have a more mobile QB.

Donny had it coming

I guess I'm surprised that Oregon wanted him. I don't deny that he could be a good purely drop-back QB, but it seems to me that Oregon's offense is built on speed and that's something he doesn't have, or at least he hasn't shown it.

With a strong OL, he will make some great plays.

But from what I saw, I would have to question whether or not he was among the top QB prospects in the country. His game has many holes in it, beginning with lack of speed and slow decision-making ability.

He was thrust into the spotlight too early. I hope Nebraska doesn't repeat that mistake with Trae.

Dylan's girlfriend is on the softball team so I suspect he is still in the area quite a bit in the offseason

Dylan Raiola’s Girlfriend Skarlett Jones, a Talented Nebraska Softball Freshman from Gretna, Plays a Key Role in his high-profile Transfer to Oregon
Sorry to pee in your Cornflakes, ATX. But you'd THINK a seasoned BHF veteran like you would KNOW BETTER than to post this ^^^^ off-the-field info on our freshman softball sensation, Skarlett Jones HERE instead of the Softball 2026 thread where it belongs.

FYI, Dylan Raiola is dead to me. :)

I'm not surprised that they wanted him, I'm just surprised they wanted him for the payout I'm hearing they paid.
