Sigh

I envisioned a play where Key and Hunter are wide on either side heading up each sideline with HH taking the middle of the field. Three speedsters going deep. Jacory coming underneath at 15 yards. Keep the best blocking back to help block. DR has 2 seconds to see who's got single coverage and then let it fly high and lead 'em a bit. I'd take all three in a jump ball situation. If DR doesn't have 2.5 seconds to make it happen, move in the pocket and hit Jacory. I like this on any 3rd down situation where we're +5 yards to go as long as we're not backed up to our end zone. Even if it gets intercepted 40-50 yards downfield it's no worse than a punt.
Not to be used all the time, but surely 2-4 times a game.

After a week to think it over here are my thoughts (because I know everyone want to hear them).
I’m really not that negative about the D. They gave up 17 points in the first game of the season. That should be a W every time. There are a lot of new faces in the front 7 and growing pains are to be expected.
The O on the other had has to worry me. It looked like a version of last year. The Huskers needed to take the dink and dunk, because of the type of D Cincy played. But they have to finish. There is too much experience on the O for them not to execute. I hope to see a big jump this week.

HH struggled big time last week. whiffed on several blocks. Needs to be in more of a role of stretching the field and not run blocking.
The PFF podcast ranked HH as one of top 5 grades in the team, but I’m not sure how. Like you I saw his missed blocks and getting pushed into the backfield. Maybe his two QB sneaks somehow factored in. He also did seem open a couple of times, so that’s not his fault if he wasn’t targeted.

I'm gonna cut HH some slack here early in the season. While he's been somewhat of a utility player in the past, this is his first season (full time) in the Tight End role. There's a lot to learn and as we all know, experience is key.

He's one of my favs on the squad. The ultimate team player.

We can scheme to help the Dline - both in the run game and pass rush. You saw Cincy hit several zone runs early. We adjusted by sending someone from the edge to go after the RB - and it made their bread and butter run much less effective. That's when they went to the QB run game - and the reverse that took advantage of us attacking the edge to stop their run game.
We have a good enough secondary to take some risks - but as mentioned above - your Front 7 has to play together to make it work. We didn't consistently vs. Cindy. Also - Jeudy did not play well - his grade was the lowest of anyone that got snaps on D.
