What a crazy game. 90% of the first half was back to the Husker abominations of the past 20 years and then one finishing drive to end the 1st half and got the improbable lead.

Second half, everything we hope to see out of the Huskers.

Could this be the game where the Huskers realize getting down doesn't mean the game is over? Is this the resilience we haven't seen in a long time?

Colandrea is the difference to me on offense. He gets the hard yards when it counts. But we do need Rule back. He's a difference maker.

Defense? No idea what was going on early but they fixed it.

This could be a 7 win team, or it could be a 10 win team. This second half tells me this isn't the same old crappy Huskers.

Reflecting on the game - we didn't quite seem ready to play at first but as the game wore on we took firm control. Plenty to work including way too many penalties. Other things to work on - no D lapses like 1st quarter, figure out how to run the ball without AC being the leading rusher, how to get Gilmer the ball more. Dude is a STUD.

Shut them down 3 and out and then deflected the punt, but because the refs are drooling idiots, they gave them a free first down on a penalty that by the rulebook should not be called. The rhythm/momentum of the game is important and the refs took a fat, steaming dump on it right away

Absolutely spot on! I was so fired up by how the D shut down the Terps opening drive only to have it nullified on a bullshit penalty, end result being a field goal. It so changed the entire complexion of the game and I feared that we would not regain our momentum. Second quarter though the offense came back with a vengeance. That touchdown before halftime absolutely sealed in our victory. I never doubted for a second that we would lose after that last second score. Made the second half so much more enjoyable for me, minus those ticky tacky bs penalties and just belong for the ride.

GO BIG RED!!!

I think a lot of us as fans could learn that lesson as well.
I certainly could. I wasn't real optimistic about the game after the 1st Quarter. Then it seemed that a few switches were flipped and it ended up being an enjoyable victory, minus being jobbed by officiating.

Ooh Rhule angry at the refs in his press conference (he also said there was a lot of mistakes by his own team, don't worry.)

One thing we know, getting angry at the refs, no matter how justified, in a press conference only makes it worse in future games.

MD has been a dirty team with Locksley as HC. Clearly discipline is a problem for the Terps - once Nebraska took control you could see the air go out of MD - just not a mentally tough team. They have good players - just not well coached.

I don't disagree---but I think this take is ironic coming from our resident Bo Pelini. :) ;)

In this case, I don't think you know what "ironic" means...?

I'm not a head football coach and I don't have press conferences where I criticize the officials. If I were and did, then it would be ironic.

And, I'm not sure what I did or said to warrant you referring to me as the resident Bo Pelini, but that's just hurtful... :mad0025:

I'm sorry, but I did chuckle a little bit at Fumble's post. You do get very fired up, just in case you don't realize it. Perhaps not Bo Polini level but you can let vitriol fly when you're of a mind. I can as well so I don't look at that ability as a negative or anything.

I'm worse than Bo Pelini?

:dig:

Not joking at all...that is genuinely hurtful. Well, it's my own fault, I guess. This is what I get for lowering the metaphorical bridge and letting people in.
