It has been 1 week and 5 days since Husker99 posted. I get DM's from her from time to time but didn't get one vis-a-vis taking a break or the like so I'm not sure what the heck is up. Hope she's OK!

Your quips are quite humorous, Dog and thanks for bringing it to our attention. I hadn't realized it had been that long and it does concern me.

No response from H99. The only thing I can think of is that Doc Fumble called her BHF's Bo Pelini and she didn't see the humor in it. I knew he meant no harm and was just ribbing her but the Pelini comparison really hurt her feelings. Probably didn't help any that she knew I thought it was as funny as all get out. Anyways, hope she's ok and hope the Pelini remark didn't horribly offend her. I take a lot of sh*t about my quirks and just roll with them. Also, they are generally done in a funny, witty manner and I always can see that and at least try to appreciate it.

H99 has a thick skin. Going way back. She'll give as good as she takes.

I'll wager that's not it.

Geez, don't take me too seriously. It was about the last post I remember from H99. And, yes, we all give each other crap all the time. My case in point: Sunday I posted that one of Hunchie's posts reminded me of the purse clutches from my days of selling T/W. Hunchie made one of his "I'm so wounded by that Uenth" posts and we both continued on about our business. I was just giving him crap and he gave me crap right back.

Edit: Doc, go read her last post. I didn't know it when I made this post but then I went and looked at her last post and it was the one about being compared to Bo Pelini. I took it as a joke and hoped her post was just jabbing back at you but I'm not so certain now. Just check out her post and the lack of subsequent posts since.

Second Edit: I went back and reread everything starting with the BP reference from Fumble and, NO, it was not horribly incindiary and, as I posted at the time, I thought there was a bit of truth to it and also that it was funny as hell. But, H99 made a couple of subsequent posts. The last one words to the effect of "I'm not kidding, this is hurtful." My guess is that there is something else going on in her life and so her feathers are ruffled more easily as a result. This is all just a guess on my part and I may be way off base. I do think there is something more serious than Fumble's joke at play here and ordinarily H99 would have just laughed off Fumble's remarks and come back with a dig at him. That's how things usually played out.

Ordinarily I would agree with you. But her last comment says otherwise.

I would say that ordinarily she can give and take with the best. I think something else is going on and that made her more sensitive to our throwing crap around at each other. I hope I'm wrong. But, that post just bothers me tremendously, especially since she hasn't posted one word since then.

Again, Fumble did NOT say or do anything wrong. I just think H99 is wrapped around another axle already and didn't respond as she usually does to Fumble's good natured jabs. I'm mostly worried about the cause of her reaction as I think something else is contributing to this reaction, When you're overwrought over something, then things that ordinarily wouldn't bother you can cause an adverse reaction.

Course, I could be full of shite about this as well. Hopefully H99 will show up in chat tonight. I'll be out like a light by then so will have to find out tomorrow.

And that could be. She's had some things in her life. I'm not privy to all of it some things I am but not going to put that stuff here. Even with her saying that was hurtful, she's been told much worse and she's said far worse than that. So I'm inclined to agree with you that she has other stuff going on in her life and Docs comment just hit wrong and broke the camels back. As long as she is ok and not physically hurt or worse.

I think we all need to pipe down and give her some time. I'd hate to see all the crap you'd all write about me if I gave this place a little break. :) ;)

Well, we have written crap about you. Seriously, it was a couple of years back and you weren't around much early in the off-season. Man, did we rip on you!!!! :happy0064::happy0064::happy0064: Seriously, there was a bit of genuine concern about you and your's well being. You popped in a few days later and all was well. I actually know way more about H99 than I know about anyone else on here. Don't really know much about anyone else TBH. Just have traded more than a few DM's with H99 and consider her to be a good friend.

Fumble's correct. There's a game for most of you to watch tonight. I'm already getting the nods. Long day!

Which means she must be going through some stuff for something you and her joke about all the time to get that upset to not be on here and miss a game.
 
When H99 does return, seeing this thread will tell her the impact she has on people here.

One thing that does bother me about anonymous message boards like this one is that if something dire happens (hospitalization or worse), there is no way we know. Case in point, I wished MRJFB a happy birthday a couple years back and we got no response. After a few weeks, I knew something was wrong. Fortunately, he'd mentioned to me once that his son was on Lincoln Sports Talk Radio. Since I knew the last name, I did a search and discovered our old friend had passed away a couple weeks before his birthday. It was the same kind of deal with Crazyhole's untimely death.

In most cases, that doesn't happen. I notice people who haven't posted in awhile and know they're 'up there' in age--but what do you do? Years pass and someone will say, "Hey, whatever happened to...?" I wish there was a better way.

We don't need to know each other's business but it would be nice to honor old board friends when they pass away.
