** Official “Heeeeeeere’s Matt Rhule” Presser Thread **

He just said “run the ball and stop the run”. Now I’m starting to think he’s been reading this MB for the last several years.

Several points, some already mentioned by others:

1. Working hard doesn't mean you need to miserable.
2. Own the line of scrimmage.
3. Find players that WANT to be here.
4. Make players better for having been at Nebraska.
5. Do things the right way.

And finally, while Matt Rhule said all the right things, what struck me was I could FEEL the passion, intensity, and desire. As he spoke, I could tell his mind was going 1,000 mph. I remember back when Frost was hired, he said all the right things as well, but with Frost (looking back on his presser when he was hired) it was a very deadpan delivery. I could feel Coach Rhule's enthusiasm. I don't know what W and Ls will look like in 2023, but if what I see on the field matches his words, the Ws will come.

Welcome Coach Matt Rhule and GBR!!!!

I was impressed with his comments. On another plane, I was impressed that Mrs. Rhule and family are on board with this. Mike Riley’s wife didn’t care for Lincoln, didn’t even buy a home here. Scott’s wife didn’t like the cold climate here. As they say, Happy wife, happy life. That aspect is very important.

Winning a press conference does not necessarily equate to winning football but it's easy for fans to see why the man is so admired and respected as a top coach. My initial, gut-reaction take-aways:
1) He was our top choice AND we were his top choice (Sorry Auburn, too bad Wiscy).
2) His passion is developing players. Interestingly, while they have very different personalities, Tom Osborne often told people in his speeches that was his primary motivator too.
3) He warmed the cockles of my heart when he emhasized over and over and over again that it's all about physicality, toughness, and hard work. If those aren't the values that represented the ol' "Nebraska Way," I don't know what does
