New A.D. / Coaching thread......

84, shoot. damn near all put up more POINTS. And Wiscy II's back had 425 yds on his own.

was it bad last night? damn straight it was. but don't try to sell me on the idea that we've never seen anything like it.

Two names are floating for AD. Mullins out of Oregon and White out of UCF. If true, that makes it sound like they're literally asking Frost who he wants.
I know that sounds ridiculous, but panic has set in on Stadium Drive, so would it really surprise you?

You guys got that right..year one Callahan Texas tech was bad. The 70 to 31 big 10 champs wisconsin game with Mel Gordon and his 425 yards...real bad. Last year's Ohio state game...awful. I'm going fishing

Riley might need to get sacked.....I have never said he for sure should be kept.....

My biggest concern if he does get fired....(Frost would be like the worst option available but I am not at all worried about him coming back here seriously)....my biggest worry is the kids here now, we do have a perdy good bunch of young guys that don't deserve all the turmoil another coaching change in just 3 years is going to make.....who in their right mind wants another 4-5 years of loosing and hearing all the negative bull crap that gets spread around the different types of media while yet another coach gets his guys in here to play whatever type ball he wants....

That would just about put the final nail in the coffin for the future of the Big Red.....there is just so much relevance and street credit that can be carried or maintained before the name Cornhuskers will be one of those "hey.....didn't they win a lot of stuff way back when people didn't have cars yet or something like that ?.....kids will forget and would rather play intermural flag football rather than go to get embarrassed every week playing at NEBRASKA.....for goodness sake.

Just Sick......

Doc.

I don't know what horrible thing Scott Frost did or said to you 20+ years ago (when he was in his early 20s) that has you so butthurt, but you need to get over it--if he is the best option for returning us from laughing stock to relevance, you need to get on board

Man up and put your personal feelings aside and do what is right for the program

Telling Doc to "man up"?

C'mon, RSR. Husker FB lettermen have nothing to prove that way, do they?

Besides, I guess I've been reading him to say that Frosty doesn't want the job.

Does that letter give you the right to trash another letter man with innuendo and gossip---either "man up" and state your issues with SF, or get past this 20 year old pissing match

I would hate to hear opinions about me at age 18-22. Thank God we grow up! I should add I grew up only a few miles from Scott Frost. It seems he is maturing as a man and coach.

Maybe moos will bring mike leech. Moos was at Oregon until 2007. He got into it with Phil knight and left to raise beef until 2010. After moose left knight donated $100 million for a project. 2010 moos went to wsu...2017 nebraska???

We have seen the bad boy coach and now Mr. nice guy. Now we need an east coast firm to tell us what we need. World greatest fans needs some east coast schooling it appears.

Nebraska use to be unique. The east coast writers told us we would never win anything of substance if we kept running that power option. Then we won three and almost four. Won some other hardware along the way. You know Heismans and Outlands.

Just maybe those New York consultants can tell us how to be Nebraska again. I’m not necessarily advocation the option but the nuts and bolts of how to run a football program.

I wonder if they know about walkons, that 500 mile circle around Lincoln. The work ethics that served the Husker program in the past. Lots of things that made continuity the backbone of success.

I touted Frost before. Son of two coaches. Quarterbacked a national champion. Coordinated another championship. Mentors such as Osborne, Walsh, Belichek, Kelly in his DNA. Taking a 0-12 team to so far an undefeated season.

We use to grow our own. We would develop athletes into football players. They called us a football factory with a constant assembly line. They came out of the tunnel with their hair on fire and a nasty attitude. Riley seems to be a good man for the west coast. Everyone gets a participation trophy for showing up.

Maybe someone should send the firm doing the search a map. Just so they know where we live. Send them a picture of Nebraska in late November so they get a feel for the North winds. Maybe ask Alvarez how it works. He seems to have a good grip on the process. Yes a bit cynical at this point, but we use to know all these things.

Well wah wah wah.....let the crying game begin.....jeez loueez

So my friends Info was spot on....about the New Hire coming real quick.....he did mention a short list of 4 well known sitting A.D.s who he knew had interviewed for the position but asked me to keep shut about who he said they were....this much I know about Moos....he is old school hard nosed but friendly in a good way....he gets what Nebraska was....is now and should be in the future.
He most likely (because he is very familiar with Mike Riley) ...will leave things alone till he has had time to evaluate where we are now....before doing anything....he is not one to make rash judgement or do something without knowing all the ramifications of such actions.....I did hear from my Wife that the President and Chancellor as well as the acting A.D. were VERY DISSAPOINTED in the way the team played against OSU.....and that Moos watched the game and after the game ended had a very lengthy phone conversation with Bounds and Green....the subject.....how physical we were NOT and the obvious lack of a power run game.....so you can take that for what it's worth....but the ex players Wives get way more info than you would think and it comes direct from those involved so I put a great deal of stock in what them gal's have to say....
You know how women gossip......

Anyway Welcome to the Dawn of another new era of NEBRASKA Football.....please remember to keep your seatbelt buckled and Hands and feet inside till the ride comes to a complete stop....have a nice day !

I'd rather have been elk hunting than watching this game.

Maybe Doc can hook me up.

100% serious. That's my dream hunt.

Be careful what you wish for with elk hunting. It's a blast but extremely difficult with a low success rate. It's not like deer where they have their usual territory and you can find one pretty easy. It sounds like Doc has it too easy with his elk. If he was going into a canyon and had the elk bagged in a couple hours it sounds like he keeps elk leashed up.

Doc.

The media has been speculating that the bye week was a good target date for a new AD since the day SE was fired and that is for a reason. If they wanted to keep Riley they wouldn't have gone through this in record time. This was an extremely fast hire for a reason.

The AD is right about what he saw on the football field. That is what most people have been bitching about since the first game Riley coached here.

I was hoping they would hire Frost as both AD and head football coach.....his time management skills are amazing and I've heard he is that good. Plus he could dabble in coaching track and helping coach up the basketballers in his free time to get them up to snuff. Would be back to beating teams like northern Illinois in no time.
