I don't have any way to confirm any of this but I have heard from multiple sources that Riley and company are gone. At th end of the season. I don't know anything more than that. I don't think that would be a good idea I don't care for Riley and his performance to this point. But I do believe it would be toxic. Don't know if any one else has heard anything else. If not then disregard

I sure hope this is true. Coach Riley is even worse than I thought when he got hired. I remember saying when he got hired that I don't expect this to last longer than 4 years and all I wanted out of this was to have better talent on the roster when he leaves then when he came.

Scott Frost is the guy to hire.

I just read a thread on this topic at Scout. This will make me one happy person. If they hire Frost I will actually have something to be excited about again for Nebraska football. It has been a good 16 years since I have had any high level excitement for the program.

One problem will be at q.b. position If this is true.

I don't think Gebbia is to far off of what Frost has now at UCF.

If true it would mean that they already have the AD they want and have not yet announced it and that they already have an agreement in place to hire Scott Frost or some other coach. Because if this decision has been made without prior knowledge or approval from the new AD, then a Baby Poop storm will soon ensue. Any AD we would hire better have said, no, I will make the football coaching decision when I arrive. If he/she does not, then we do not want that AD at Nebraska.

I'm not sold on Scott Frost because I've not seen enough to say he is the right person here. Can he recruit? We have no idea. Is he successful long term? No idea. Is he Chris Petterson or is he Butch Jones? Would we hire him if he didn't play at Nebraska?

" NO DECISION FOR OR AGAINST Coach Riley's dismissal has been made and will not be addressed in any fashion until a new A.D. is in place and up to speed.
In the interest of the Football team it serves Nebraska best for now to leave things as they are for the foreseeable future."

I wanted to ask permission to quote this person but out of respect for our friendship I decided to just do this instead.
Those of you who know can perdy much guess where this came from and I know this also no one and I mean no one will make any decisions about any sitting coach at the University of Nebraska untill we have a new A.D. who is fully aware of what is at stake and the New A.D. whomever he or she might be shouldn't make those decisions unless they have a full grasp of what the University of Nebraska is all about first.
I also know that several SEC schools are looking hard at Frost so our chances of getting him are very slim at best plus there is too much "WANT" BY THE MEN WHO FOOT THE BILL TO GO MORE TO A SMASH MOUTH RUNNING style of coach who is also a Fantastic Recruiter so that right there should tell you all something.

I'd like to know who these well funded RUN THE BALL GUYS think that coach actually is. Are you getting Shaw away from Stanford? No way. Who? One of the academy coaches who runs the triple option? Ugh. Paul Johnson? Another ugh. Not ragging on you Doc. Just hoping that these guys who think they should have this level of influence don't screw it up for the rest of us.

This is a painful time. There is just on other way to cut it. We simply can't have a miss here. I would much rather see the current regime play out than go from bad to worse. My hope lies in the current and future administration making the right calls.....fingers crossed.

Coach Riley's demeanor says a lot imo. I've seldom seen frustration at Riley's media interactions......until now. Something is afoot is my guess.

I'm not a Bielema fan. The only upside that I can see is that he wanted Diaco at Arkansas. He very well might keep a portion of the defensive staff.....dunno.

At this point the only hope I have is they strike out repeatedly in the AD search and the timeline prevents Riley from being fired. With the current flailing by the administration it seems less and less likely they pull in an AD that is qualified to make an accurate snap judgement on the program.
