Just curious what everyone's opinion on this is. Prior to the Michigan State game I would have said the loss in Boulder where we blew a huge 1st half lead. This Michigan State game surpassed that one for me because of how bad we needed the win and also the fact of how great the D played and we actually had the lead.

Losing to Troy in Frost's second game as a head coach. At that point it was clear he was not going to be the savior for which fans had been hoping. That's not to say he couldn't eventually be successful (he hasn't been), but the turnaround wasn't going to be quick or easy.

Okay here goes. in order of devastationilization.

Top 5
1 Last week MSU - Have never seen a more dominating defensive effort wasted
2 Minnesota 34-7 - Never dreamed I would see a Husker team worked like that physically by a team with very similar talent.
3 Colorado 33-28 New era begins with a dramatic thud
4 3 Way tie - Iowa Iowa Iowa Damn, no expla needed
5 Illinois 30-22 season opener - I really thought this would be the year of the turnaround. Same old same old...

I believe the Big 12 CCG in 2009 down in Jerry World where we lost after adding a second back to the clock and losing to Texas deserves a gut shot honorable mention or higher.

Frost’s first game. I bought all the hype and figured the team would come out fast, hitting hard, and looking like contenders. When they didn’t, I was shocked.
We did look good in that game. It was just bad luck and the transition that led to the loss.

For me it was the Michigan loss in year one. They weren't a great team but absolutely bludgeoned us from the opening kickoff and didn't let up until later.

IL to start the season

1: The losses in the first 3 years I could deal with as long as things would turn around in year 4. Historically, if a coach is not winning by year 4, they never will.

2: It showed there was no growth in the program from the dumbness of what takes place on that fotobal field. Same type of penalties were happening.

3: Retarded coaching choices that put players at risk of being exposed with their greatest weaknesses that could lose you games at the worst time possible. Think back to the Adrian fumble. Any smart coach worth a Baby Poop would have known to never make Adrian try to drive down the field in that situation since it was a high risk of giving IL the ball if they turned it over and you give IL points. It in fact happened.

that showed me Frost has failed to learn and grow the mental side of being a head coach.

4: He still thinks he can be an OC and head coach at the same time. There isn't a single successful head coach in college football these days that call plays and CEO of a program at the same time. None.

His ego is going to send him to the unemployment line. He will get fired and go be an OC at some school in the Sun Belt or something like that and thrive since it's softy football and not the big time conferences.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the 2018 Northwestern game in Evanston. Up seven with a minute or so to play, Northwestern with no timeouts, and (imagine this) a coffin-corner punt that left Northwestern's offense 99 yards from pay dirt. A boatload of missed assignments and holding calls later, they're in the end zone. Nebraska loses in overtime, assuring that homecoming game would go down in Wildcat history.

Another one that hurt was driving out to Nebraska with my wife and daughter for what was supposed to be the first game of the Frost era, only to be preempted by lightning.

That was a disappointment, but at least they didn't lose!

The sad part was the grab assing with the players by the HC when there were 3 minutes or so left. Also the coaching mistakes that left them the opportunity to come back
