Michigan screwed Western Michigan

What a crock

This perfectly portrays most of the Michigan fans I know: arrogant, self-unaware, self-absorbed, and seemingly incapable of applying common sense or open-mindedness to anything that isn’t laid at the altar of Michigan football.

I once had a Michigan fan argue with me that Nebraska couldn’t have beaten Washington State in 1997, let alone Michigan. Seriously?

The complete inability of some Michigan fans to even consider that another program—or another team—might have been as good or better is remarkable. The arrogance and lack of perspective can be exhausting.

And yes, I realize every fan base has its share of jackholes. Michigan just seems to have introduced me to more than its fair share.

Now we know where the time at the end of the 1998 Rose Bowl they took from Washington St. went.

Most hated 2026 college football teams if a poll was done this week

1. Michigan
2. LSU

Ya know, we got screwed against Texas and West Michigan got screwed by the Big Ten. The worst part of it is that we dont get to grind Meatchicken into ground crap this year. I guess OSU will just have to do.

So, a second was put back on the clock and Michigan hit a Hail Mary? Sounds like WMU shoulders some of the blame for not stopping a very low percentage play.

At halftime of the LSU-Clemson game the Gameday crew was bantering about some games from earlier in the day and the Michigan controversy came up and Joey Galloway was standing right next to Desmond Howard and Joey said something to the effect of "you cannot be proud of that win" and Desmond stood there in silence with a poop eating grin on his face.

Just know that if Nebraska had done half the crap Michigan has done, we would have been kicked out of the B1G. What made Desmond want to kick us out was that we wanted to play football during COVID.

Well, they stopped it once as time expired. My guess is if they stop it a second time there would have been a defensive penalty allowing for yet one more untimed down. They were destined to lose this game.

MAC now says Big Ten replay officials erred in adding 1 second back for Michigan's Hail Mary, asks NCAA to recognize Western Michigan as the winner

MAC now says, not so fast.

"After further study and investigation, it is now evident that replay protocol was not properly followed in determining whether time remained on the game clock at the conclusion of the Western Michigan vs. Michigan football game," the statement said.

"The established replay protocol requires that the game clock displayed on the program feed be used in determining whether time remained. Instead, the Big Ten Conference replay crew relied upon the clock feed embedded within its replay system. AS a result, one second was placed back on the game clock and an additional play was awarded.

"This was not a judgment regarding the proper amount of time to place on the clock. It was an error in the application of the established replay protocol governing this specific end-of-game timing situation. Had the protocol been properly followed and the program-feed clock been used, no additional play would have been awarded and Western Michigan would have won the game, 12-7.

I don't think that is actual the rule - to use the program feed clock. But both sides have explained it to fit their narrative and the B1G clearly is not going say they screwed up. I doubt the NCAA does anything since time going back on the clock from replay has happened before (see Texas screwing over Nebraska as one example).
